BOYLE Sports wary of green and gold gamble
Bookmaker BOYLE Sports is preparing for a potential Cheltenham Festival onslaught from the powerful green and gold colours of owner JP McManus, with several of his horses attracting strong support from punters ahead of the four-day spectacle.
Majborbough, Fact to File and Dinoblue are all heavily backed favourites in respective races and standing out as a popular treble, but punters are hoping to land an even earlier blow on the bookies with talking horse Mighty Park lining up in the opening race of the Festival for champion trainer Willie Mullins, the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle.
McManus also has a strong hand in the handicaps, with the likes of Jeriko du Reponet and Saratoga identified by punters as horses primed for a big day out at Cheltenham this week.
Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BOYLE Sports, said:
“JP McManus is sending a formidable army to Cheltenham, and we’re seeing plenty of his horses appearing in dangerous multiples over the week. Mighty Park could put us on the ropes from the off, but the prospect of a bigger Cheltenham coup for the green and gold could saddle the industry with a hefty payout.”
