There are nine races to choose from for this Saturday’s ITV racing tips, with top-class action over jumps at Ayr and on the Flat at Newbury.
The Scottish Grand National headlines a strong card north of the border, while Classic hopefuls will be looking to shine in Berkshire, so here are our best bets from both meetings:

13:25 Dubai Duty Free Stakes – Catching The Moon
The Group Three Dubai Duty Free Stakes (Fred Darling in old money) has featured some smart fillies down the years and could be claimed by the North Yorkshire yard of Richard and Peter Fahey this term.
Beautifully bred, Catching The Moon won her last two from three juvenile starts, including an Ayr strike at this level, and Ryan Moore riding for the first time only enhances her appeal.
14:00 Watership Down Stud Too Darn Hot Greenham Stakes – Zavateri
The Group Three Watership Down Stud Too Darn Hot Greenham Stakes is always a high-quality affair, but this year has drawn in two particularly big names.
Aidan O’Brien’s Albert Einstein, freely touted as one of the most talented horses in his stable, is out to make amends for a Gladness Stakes flop – a sixth-placed finish at Listed level following a brief but unbeaten juvenile career.
Standing in his way is Eve Johnson Houghton’s Zavateri, one of the success stories of last year when winning a novice, the July Stakes, the Vintage Stakes and the National Stakes before finishing fourth in the Dewhurst. He makes his seasonal debut and his key rival has the benefit of a run under his belt, but Albert Einstein has a significant point to prove whereas Zavateri has never let his connections down and can hit the ground running with his customary good attitude.

14:20 Coral Scottish Champion Hurdle – Captain Hugo
There has been only one real blip on this six-year-old’s record during his novice hurdling season, with five runs returning three wins and one second.
A fall when looking to have every chance in the Scottish Supreme Novices’ Hurdle at Musselburgh is the only time he has failed to make the frame, but he bounced back when winning at Kelso last time out and looks a useful prospect.
We were on Philip Hobbs and Johnson White’s charge for that 14/1 success and are happy to play up some of those winnings in the Coral Scottish Champion Hurdle.
15:35 Coral Scottish Grand National – King Of Answers
Trained by Lucinda Russell and Michael Scudamore near Perth, this seven-year-old is taken to give his stable another home success in the Coral Scottish Grand National, which they won with Mighty Thunder in 2021.
King Of Answers has already scored twice at Kelso this season and was most recently seen running a fine race to finish second in the National Hunt Chase at the Cheltenham Festival.
He took a step up in distance to 3m 6f in his stride at Prestbury Park and this four-mile marathon should hold no fears for connections judged on the way he stayed on strongly up the hill last month.
