Premier League favourite Louis Saha has backed Ruben Amorim to keep his long-term project going at Manchester United with or without Champions League football in an exclusive interview with BOYLE Sports .
The former France international has also called on his former club to grant Kobbie Mainoo the chance to show what he can do while other players are away at the African Cup of Nations in December and January.
Saha, who played for a number of Premier League clubs, including Everton, Fulham, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur in a storied career at the very top of the game, also believes that Thomas Frank needs more time at Spurs to show his true potential as manager.
Woltemade A Modern-Day Peter Crouch.
Nick Woltemade is definitely a unique type of player. It's a bit surprising because he's very tall but still very mobile for that kind of striker. I like that he's very skilful. He reminds me sometimes of Peter Crouch. He’s been amazing and was unlucky against Sunderland, but in most of the games I watch, I can see a player who can definitely improve. He's adapted very quickly to the Premier League, and because of that, he's showing signs that he can really do amazing things in the Premier League.
Coming to a new league like this and a club that had Alexander Isak as the focal point, I think he's done really well. The amount of things that he can offer surprises the opposition all the time because he's an easy target to find, but he offers more.
He has a very interesting profile and very, very big potential to fill. But we shouldn’t be too critical. I remember Jamie Carragher saying that Erling Haaland needed to offer more and look at him now.
Can Woltemade Emulate Crouch in the Premier League?
Thomas Frank
Frank Needs Time!
It might take time. For Thomas Frank, there is a need to improve things because sometimes he has gotten away with it when some individual players have done well. The reality of football is that people are always quick to judge, but I'm not going to be a supporter who says, ‘Yes, I blame you.’
No, he’s facing a bunch of teams who are really tough. The Premier League is a very tough league, and people think it's straightforward just because you're Spurs. That's not the reality. It's difficult for Liverpool; it has been difficult for Man City, even when they are at the top.
Even look at Arsenal, Arsenal are not flying and winning 4-0 every weekend. They have been so close to losing, but they have this consistency. So it's not easy. People are always quick to blame the manager or the big players. I'm not trying to defend everybody, but I respect my game, and this game is tough, and that's why it's very entertaining. It's very tricky to predict everything, and that's why I love this game.
Transfer Talk
Sign Grealish Permanently!
Jack Grealish should be the priority. You can see that he is enjoying his football and has a bond with the players. You can see that they are having fun with Iliman Ndiaye.
The contribution that he has had is enormous. Still, I think that they don't have the right striker at the moment or the right combination of strikers. They have a similar kind of profile with the new signing, like Thierno Barry.
When they have a different type of forward, it will be interesting to see. When you look at the smile on Grealish, you can see a different person now. I’d definitely urge Everton to do whatever they can to give him that stability. And I think he will get it more at Everton than Man City.
Harry Wilson
Harry Wilson is in great form. He represents what we love in football; he’s able to score some amazing goals. His consistency has been brilliant as well, so it's great to see.
This is where football is tricky; you have to manage those moments. Fulham didn’t see it coming. That's why it's going to be hard to agree to a new contract this summer, but they have to find a way.
I think he has shown a lot of loyalty in his ways, so I am confident that he's going to stay there.
Could Harry Wilson Return to Liverpool?
Premier League Predictions
Prediction: Aston Villa vs Man Utd
I think it's going to be a tough game. I can see a 2-2 draw here.
Prediction: Man Utd vs Newcastle?
I think it’ll be 2-1 to Manchester United. I'm a bit more confident in the way United are playing, especially against big teams.
When it’s teams in the big six or around there, United respond well, I am very confident about that.
