Fresh from his victory in the Portugal Masters, we can report sustained support for Padraig Harrington to captain the European team in the 2018 Ryder Cup.

Currently Thomas Bjorn heads the betting at 4/5 to captain Europe but Harrington is starting to prove popular at 3/1. ""

It's then 10/1 that Spanish golfer Miguel Ángel Jiménez will captain Europe at the Albatros Course of Le Golf National in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, whilst Darren Clarke is next in the betting at 12/1.

USA are 10/11 to win the tournament with Europe priced at 11/10 to bounce back on home soil, with the draw on offer at 10/1.

Although Bjorn remains the warm favourite to captain Europe in France, our traders believe that the current 3/1 about Harrington may well dry up sooner rather than later due to the demand since his win in Portugal.
