The Time Greyhound Nutrition Puppy Derby market has been shaken up ahead of Saturday's semi-finals at Shelbourne Park , with Wi Can James installed as the new 11/4 favourite following his electric heat win when the competition finally got underway. Slick Sanctuary (5/1), Ballymac Scheff (6/1), Kapuka Coley (6/1) and Im Here (8/1) make up the rest of the front rank, and the draw has done the market no favours: three of the five leading fancies have been paired together in the same semi-final heat.
Open to 48 pups whelped in August 2024 or younger and worth €25,000 to the winner, this year's renewal was delayed by the recent heatwave but is now building towards a final at Shelbourne Park on 25th July.

Semi-Final Draw & Heat Odds
Both semi-finals will be run on Saturday, 18th July at 20:32. The top three in each heat progress to the final on 25th July . Each-way 1/4 odds, places 1, 2 in heat markets.
1st Semi
1st Semi-Final
Saturday 18th July, 20:32
Trap 1 Slick Sanctuary
Trap 2 Razldazl Thelma
Trap 3 Faranheit Ace
Trap 4 Grouchos Chief
Trap 5 Wi Can James
Trap 6 I'm Here
On the clocks, Wi Can James is the hound to beat and certainly if he gets close to his 27:88 best it'll be hard to see him getting beaten. If looking for some each-way value Faranheit Ace could cause the others trouble certainly if he can lead like he can and avoid trouble at the first bend.
2nd Semi
2nd Semi-Final
Saturday 18th July, 20:48
Trap 1 Razldazl Loreal
Trap 2 Ballymac Scheff
Trap 3 Villaricos
Trap 4 Carrick Becks
Trap 5 Kapuka Coley
Trap 6 Kilwest Major
Arguably the more "open" of Saturday's two semi-finals but with the withdrawel of trap four, I think this should open it up more for Kapuka Coley who I expect to deliver with a fourth career victory.
Favourites
Time Puppy Derby Favourites
Wi Can James
Wi Can James – 3/1
The joint market leader after the standout performance of the opening round, pinging from trap one under Pat Guilfoyle 's care to a seven-length romp in a rapid 27.88 for the 525-yard trip.
Drawn in trap five of Saturday's first semi-final alongside fellow leading fancies Slick Sanctuary and Im Here , a heat that looks certain to leave at least one market leader making an early exit.
Slick Sanctuary
Slick Sanctuary – 3/1
The other joint favourite and occupies trap one in that same ultra-competitive first semi-final, meaning the market's top two picks must see off each other,
Im Here and three more before either gets a look at the final
Ballymac Scheff
Ballymac Scheff – 6/1
Joint-third in the market and drawn in trap two of the second semi-final alongside fellow fancy Kapuka Coley , a considerably kinder assignment than the one facing the front two.
Arrives on solid form, having been runner-up in the Lee Strand 550 Final at Tralee last month, beaten only a length by Music In The Air in 29.57.
Kapuka Coley
Kapuka Coley – 6/1
Matches Ballymac Scheff at 6/1 and shares his heat, given a middle draw at trap five of the second semi-final.
With only two of the market principals in this heat against three in the other, this looks the shorter route through to the 25th July final.
Im Here
Im Here – 6/1
Another 6/1 shot Im Here completes the front rank of the betting and, like Wi Can James and Slick Sanctuary , must negotiate the stacked first semi-final, drawn wide in trap six.
Plenty of pace drawn to his inside, so he will need to be sharp and tight around the opening bends to figure.
