Favourites
Champion Stake Favourites
Bockos Diamond
Bockos Diamond – 3/1
Made a successful Irish return at Shelbourne Park after early elimination from the English Derby , winning in 28.26sec on 30th May before a 28.01sec solo trial three weeks later.
Drawn in trap 6 of the opening heat, he faces the stiffest test of the semi-finals against fellow market leader Bouncing Monarch and the classy Solo And Go , with only two through.
Bouncing Monarch
Bouncing Monarch – 4/1
The Kirby Memorial winner is the second favourite outright and lines up in trap 1 of that same brutal opening heat.
A repeat of his Kirby form would see him through, but there is no margin for error with Bockos Diamond alongside him.
Epic Ace
Epic Ace – 4/1
Joint-second favourite outright, and a short-priced 4/6 favourite for his own semi-final from trap 1 .
With Jacktavern Turbo , Getup Me Boy and Gaytime Clyde for company rather than either of the market leaders, this looks the most straightforward passage to the final of the three heats.
Glengar Kane
Glengar Kane – 8/1
The clear outsider of the market leaders, but sent off as the favourite for his own heat at 11/10 from trap 2 .
A leading contender if he brings his A-game, with Low Profile and Coloursaregreen both capable of a leading role of their own in what looks the most open heat of the night.
Ballymac Kamala
Ballymac Kamala – 12/1
Second string in the weakest of the three heats, drawn in trap 6 behind odds-on favourite Epic Ace .
A clear step up on the pace shown by the rest of that heat would put her firmly into the final reckoning.
