Scotland will hope to set up a winner-takes-all showdown against Denmark next week when they travel to Greece in their penultimate World Cup qualifier on Saturday. The top two, Scotland and Denmark, have both picked up 10 points from their four games so far and meet in Glasgow on November 18.
That match will decide who qualifies for next year’s World Cup automatically and who must face the play-offs, but for the Hampden showdown to become the exciting climax it is building up to be, this weekend’s games need to stay on script.
Denmark will be confident of doing their part with a home game against point-less Belarus, but Scotland have a much tougher test against Greece in Piraeus. Greece cannot qualify now following a dramatic loss of form, but they remain dangerous opponents and could dent Scotland’s hopes. A score draw is 16/5 and that is our prediction for Saturday's encounter.

Head To Head
Greece vs Scotland Head-To-Head.
The nations have only met five times previously - three of those in 2025. The pair swapped away victories in the Nations League play-offs in March, Scotland winning the first leg 1-0 in Piraeus thanks to a Scott McTominay penalty before Greece hit back three days later with a 3-0 victory at Hampden.
Scotland gained a measure of revenge for that result last month with a 3-1 win in Glasgow, which helped leave the Greeks out of contention for a top-two finish in Group C.
Prior to this year, the teams had only met in qualification for Euro 1996, where both claimed 1-0 home wins with Ally McCoist and Stratos Apostolakis netting the goals.
Greece Form Guide
Greece Form Guide
Greece started their campaign with a 5-1 win over Belarus, but that early promise quickly evaporated, and they are now out of contention after losing every match since.
They were beaten 3-0 and 3-1 home and away to Denmark, either side of a 3-1 defeat in Scotland, and no matter what happens this weekend or at Belarus in their final game, Greece will be absent from the World Cup for a third successive time.
The Euro 2004 champions will be desperate to give their fans something to cheer about once again, though, and a home win is 21/10 in our Greece vs Scotland odds.
Scotland Form Guide
Scotland Form Guide
Scotland have had a good 12 months under Steve Clarke since coming off a miserable spell between 2023-2024, which saw them lose 10 of 16 matches and only beat Gibraltar. In their last 11 games, Scotland have now recorded seven wins and held Portugal and Denmark to goalless draws.
Their only defeats were a friendly at home to Iceland and that painful Nations League play-off loss to Greece.
