The Wyndham Championship is the 34th and final tournament of the PGA regular season and is the last chance to get into the FedExCup play-offs. With only the top-70 qualifying, every player between 61-125 in the world rankings are involved this week, along with eight of the top 30.

Young favourite
Young looking to join exclusive club
Cameron Young is vying to become only the second player in 88 years of the Wyndham Championship to successfully defend his title but he faces a field scrambling for FedExCup points in the final event of the PGA regular season.
Young claimed his maiden victory at this tournament 12 months ago after finishing a massive six shots clear and the 29-year-old returns to Sedgefield Country Club having already added two more wins to his growing collection in 2026. It is 70 years since Sam Snead won back-to-back Wyndham crowns but Young is clear favourite to emulate the golf legend this week.
The world number three is comfortably the highest-ranked player in North Carolina , with number 19 Aaron Rai the next best, and he heads into the tournament on the back of a runner-up finish at The Open followed by a tie for eighth at the Rocket Classic , where his second-round 61 tied the course record.
Young is 8/1 to retain his title but the fact this is the last chance for players to claim a place in the FedEx St Jude Championship - the first leg of the play-offs - adds an extra element of jeopardy to proceedings.
The Contenders
Koivun on cut-off mark as hopefuls vie for play-off spot
Young already has his play-off spot secure, lying third in the FedExCup standings, but that is not the case for many, and every golfer from 61st to 125th in the rankings are in action this week as they battle to get inside the top-70 cut-off.
Among them is rising star Jackson Koivun , who currently sits at number 70 after making a promising start to his professional career. The 21-year-old former amateur star claimed his maiden PGA victory at the 3M Open in July and has also recorded a top 10 at the ISCO Championship and 31st at the Rocket Classic since turning pro.
Koivun is 12/1 second favourite to claim a Wyndham victory, and 18/5 for a top-five finish, with Ryan Gerard 18/1 and 5/1 respectively.
Matsuyama in good form
Hideki Matsuyama has been unable to add to his 11 career victories so far in 2026 but the 34-year-old Japanese heads to Greensboro in good touch and he is our tip for the title @ 20/1.
In his last four tournaments, Matsuyama was 14th at both the Travelers and The Open before finishing third at the 3M Open and fifth at the Rocket Classic , shooting final-day 64s in both events.
Reigning PGA Championship winner Rai is one of a host of players rated at 22/1 as he looks to repeat his 2024 Wyndham victory and claim a third title of his career. Ben Griffin , born in North Carolina and who played college golf for Chapel Hill in the state, is the same price.
Tom Kim , Wyndham champion in 2022, is 25/1 alongside Justin Thomas while five-time major winner Brooks Koepka is 35/1 as he looks to prolong his season.
Koepka is one of the biggest names at risk of missing out on the FedExCup play-offs, currently sitting 86th in the standings. He needs to finish in the top four but his form is poor and he has only had one top-10 payday in 15 starts in 2026.
