Team Europe will seek to reclaim the Solheim Cup back from the USA when the two go head-to-head at the Bernardus Golf Club in the Netherlands this week. Europe were reigning champions from 2019 to 2024 but lost their crown two years ago after the USA claimed a 15.5-12.5 victory in Gainesville .
Both teams have new captains at the helm for this year’s edition, with Anna Nordqvist replacing Suzann Pettersen in the European hotseat and Angela Stanford taking over the US team from Stacy Lewis. Here, we take a look at some of the best bets heading into the clash in Cromvoirt .

Both teams are rated @ Evens to claim an outfight victory, such is the quality in the two camps, but home advantage has often proved key down the years. Since the inaugural Solheim Cup in 1990, Europe have claimed seven victories - five of which have come at home. They also held the USA to a first draw in Spain three years ago.
USA , meanwhile, have won the cup 11 times but only three of which have come on European soil, the most recent being in Germany back in 2015 when they edged a 14.5-13.5 victory - the closest score in the history of the competition at the time.
The Solheim Cup has never been held in the Netherlands before and Europe have no Dutch players in their team, but vice-captain Anne van Dam was born less than 50 miles away in Arnhem and should be able to provide some invaluable local knowledge

The USA have been fast starters in the last two editions of the Solheim Cup and they will be looking for something similar this time. They led 6-2 after the opening day in Gainesville two years ago after winning both the fourballs and foursomes 3-1.
A year previously in Malaga they boasted a 5-3 lead thanks largely to a 4-0 clean sweep in the morning fourballs. Nelly Korda has been key to that success, winning both her foursomes matches alongside Allisen Corpuz and also the fourballs with Megan Khang . The only time Korda was not involved, in the 2023 foursomes, the USA did not win a single match.

Top overall points scorer - Charley Hull @ 9/1
Hull has been Europe’s top points scorer twice before and we think the vastly experienced Englishwoman is likely to be front and centre again. Hull was the overall leading scorer at the 2015 Solheim Cup after winning four of her five matches, while she also topped the European charts in 2024 with three points from five matches, leaving her second to USA’s Rose Zhang and her perfect four-point haul.
This will be Hull’s eighth Solheim Cup since making her debut as a teenager in 2013 and she has been on the winning team three times, contributing 16.5 points from 27 matches.
The world number eight has not had the greatest of seasons, with only one top-five payday in 14 LPGA events, but showed she has the game and mentality for the big occasion after finishing T2 at the US Women’s Open , T6 at the AIG Women’s Open and T10 at the Chevron Championship.
Top USA points scorer
Top USA points scorer - Nelly Korda @ 7/2
World number one Korda has not finished as the USA’s leading points scorer in any of her four Solheim Cup appearances, but we think this could be her year. The closest she has come was in 2019, when Korda shared first place with her older sister Jessica on 3.5 points, but she boasts an enviable Solheim Cup record and should lead the US challenge once again.
Since her debut in 2019, Korda has claimed 10.5 points out of a possible 16 despite the USA losing three of those four events. Korda is not in the best form heading to the Netherlands , finishing tied for 50th and 23rd in her last two outings, but that should not diminish what has been a remarkable 2026 for the 28-year-old.
In her opening eight tournaments this year, Korda claimed four titles, including major victories at the Chevron Championship and US Women’s Open , as well as three runner-up finishes. Korda has also recorded three other top-10 spots this season to cement her place at the top of the world rankings.
