The United States are expected to continue their stranglehold on the Presidents Cup when they meet the International Team at Medinah Country Club. The US have won 13 of the 15 editions since the competition was launched in 1994, including each of the last 10 since the teams tied 17-17 in South Africa in 2003.
The International Team have only managed to claim victory once, when a powerful 1998 line-up including Ernie Els , Greg Norman and Vijay Singh thrashed Jack Nicklaus’ US team 20.5-11.5 in Melbourne . Here are some of our Presidents Cup predictions and tips heading into this week's clash.

US dominance in this event has been absolute, and that has never been more evident than in Quebec last time out in 2024. The International Team was captained by Canadian former Masters champion Mike Weir but local knowledge proved little help as the USA romped to an 18.5-11.5 win at the Royal Montreal Golf Club.
Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa and Patrick Cantlay all won four of their five matches two years ago and they are back involved this time, as is world number one Scottie Scheffler. In fact, a power-packed USA team boasts seven of the world’s top 10 players, while only PGA Tour rookie Jackson Koivun is ranked outside the top 30.
In contrast, the International Team , who are 7/2 for victory this week, have only one player in the top 20, South Korea’s Kim Si-woo ranked 14th in the world, and have seven players outside the top 50.

Since the 2015 Presidents Cup when the USA edged a thriller in South Korea 15.5-14.5, the outcome in this event has largely been an emphatic American victory. They romped home 19-11 in New Jersey in 2017 and, after digging deep to win 16-14 in Melbourne under Tiger Woods’ captaincy in 2019, they routed the International Team 17.5-2.5 at Quail Hollow in 2022.
International hopes that home advantage might pay dividends in Montreal two years ago were also dashed as America stormed home by seven points. Top overall points scorer - Xander Schauffele @ 9/1
Scottie Scheffler is 5/1 to finish as the tournament’s top points scorer but the world number one does not have the best of records from his two Presidents Cup appearances. The four-time major champion has won just three of his nine matches to date, losing five including both of his singles in 2022 and 2024, beaten by Sebastian Munoz and Hideki Matsuyama respectively.
Instead, we are going for Schauffele to lead the way at Medinah , scene of Team Europe’s famous ‘ Miracle of Medinah’ Ryder Cup win in 2012 when they retained the cup after winning 8.5 points from a possible 12 on the final day. Schauffele has made three Presidents Cup appearances and has won 10 of his 14 matches, with a perfect record in the singles.
Cantlay has exactly the same record as Schauffele and is worth considering at odds of 12/1, as is two-time major winner Morikawa @ 14/1. The 29-year-old was victorious in six of his eight matches in 2022 and 2024, with his only defeats coming in the foursomes.

Top International Team points scorer - Si Woo Kim @ 6/1
Kim is the top-ranked player in the International Team at 14th in the world and he is coming off another solid season on the PGA Tour.
The South Korean did not manage to add to his career tally of four tournament victories in 2026 but he only missed one cut and recorded 11 top-10 finishes, including runner-up at the Farmers Insurance , CJ Cup Byron Nelson and FedEx St Jude Championship . The 31-year-old is playing his fourth Presidents Cup and has won six of his 12 matches to date.
