Playing For Celtic or Rangers?
There actually wasn't much talk of Celtic or Rangers . There was a brief, potential chat of Rangers , but with football, there's so much speculation, so much chat. Until you get it done, it's basically miles away. So, I'd probably say never, never close. But Rangers were mentioned at one point at the end of my career.”
Old Firm Missed Opportunity?
Again, it's all about timing, right? Obviously, Rangers is a big, iconic club. The Old Firm games, of course, are great, but you only have a few of them a year, so I wouldn't be going just for that.
“It's all about timing. You know, I was never going to leave Liverpool to go to Rangers , put it that way. But if I was young and went on loan or something, then of course. Or if I was at the end of my career, then great. It's hard to say in hindsight because obviously, I'm happy with what I did and the clubs I played for. But yeah, if the time was right, yeah, I probably would have enjoyed it.

Can Portsmouth Avoid The Drop?
It's a tough one. Obviously, it's a very tough league, and Portsmouth are right in the thickof it. I guess you'd like to think that there are just going to be three teams worse than them. However, you're down in that position because you don't win games. I think if they can just get a little bit of luck and become hard to beat, then they should do enough to ensure there are enough teams around them that are worse than them.
Obviously, you can't just sit there and hope other teams lose, but everyone down there has lost. Well, one team's gone already, so you need two more. Leicester's form could give them a chance. It'd be a shame for them to get up and go back down, but again, it's a tough, tough league. They're probably only a few wins away from actually being safe.
But yeah, they're just going to have to put their hard hats on now, try and get some ugly points, and, as I say, hope that the teams behind them keep losing.
Millwall's Promotion Prospects
The league table doesn't lie in March. They've been in fine form, they've been winning games, they're right in the race for promotion. So yeah, it'd be great to see them win the Premier League . But the fact that they're even competing is a massive pat on the back for everyone involved. So I'm sure there'll be a fantastic buzz around Millwall right now. And as I say, if they can get the job done, then I'll be very happy.
Can they catch Middlesbrough or Coventry ? They're right there. The top two look like staying as they are, but they obviously deserve to be there. But yeah, absolutely. If Millwall keep going on this run, they could easily get into second spot.
Cheltenham 2026
Cheltenham Plans
Cheltenham , it's fantastic, and I'm going to have a tough week because I'm going every single day. So there'll be pints of Guinness, that'll be for sure.
But yeah, it's a great day out. You know, I think the races itself will be quite hard to predict this year. But yeah, for a fun day out with your friends and family, watching some great horses live, it's always a good atmosphere. So yeah, I can't wait.
"I'm going every day, but on the first day we're going with Crouchy , Steve Sidwell , and I think that's it, football-wise. However, there are loads of players attending the event overall, so I'm sure we'll catch up with other people we know on the day who aren't actually coming with us. It'll be good to catch up with everyone."
Cheltenham Tips
It's impossible now, obviously, we don't know who's running against who. But, you know, I want to see New Lion and Sir Gino , but again, it depends on what races they pick. I've got a little shortlist of what I want to look at, but it depended on the day. Hopefully, it's good weather. It usually is, so keep the racing solid and competitive.
