Janice Boylan Strong Favourite For Dublin Central By-Election

Gerry Hutch and Conor McGregor both feature in the betting with BOYLE Sports to claim Pascal Donohue’s seat in the Dáil after the Minister for Finance resigned earlier this week.

Hutch, who narrowly missed out in the Dublin Central by-election last year is a 6/1 shot with the oddsmakers if he features on the ballot paper once again, while Conor McGregor, who is fresh from launching a failed Presidential bid, is priced at 12/1.

Government Parties Under Pressure

As rumours continue to swirl that the former UFC-star will once again try to branch into politics, a number of likelier candidates head the betting market.

Sinn Féin’s Janice Boylan is a red-hot 1/4 favourite to bolster the party’s position in the constituency after Mary Lou McDonald topped the poll in 2024, with Labour’s Lisa Connell and SocDem’s Cat O’Driscoll heading the chasing pack at 6 /1.

Brian O’Keeffe, spokesperson for BOYLE Sports, said:

“The Dublin Central by-election captured the attention of the nation last year and with the public set to flock to the polls again, the betting market is heating up. Janice Boylan is a red-hot favourite to take Pascal Donohue’s seat, but with rumours of Conor McGregor and Gerry Hutch throwing their hat in the ring, there could be some festive fireworks yet.”
