Tournament Hosts Germany are into the knockout stages and have arguably put in some of the strongest showings. The longer this tournament goes on with them involved the stronger in terms of confidence.
The Danes are yet to lose a match in 2024 so the Germans can’t expect it to be a walkover win at the weekend and they do have the quality to hurt Germany if they get the opportunity.

Germany v Denmark Preview
Germany’s Form
Tournament Hosts Germany are looking to land their fourth Euro Championship success this summer following victories in 1972, 1980 and 1996. While they qualified as hosts, their form in 2023 was abysmal for their standards with 5 defeats, 2 draws and just 2 victories from 9 games.
However, the German's form in 2024 has been a lot more positive ahead of this tournament. During two impressive victories coming 0-2 against France and 2-1 against The Netherlands two sides who will be expected to be among the knockout stages in the summer. Ahead of the tournament they drew 0-0 against Ukraine and defeated Greece 2-1. There were no opening tournament nerves with a 5-1 win against Scotland in the opening game of Euro 2024 followed by a 2-0 win against Hungary and a 1-1 draw against the Swiss securing their passage to the knockout stages.
Germany have been managed by Nagelsmann since he was appointed on the 22nd of September 2023 replacing the sacked Hansi Flick signing a contract until 31 July 2024, becoming Germany's second youngest coach at 36 but despite his age, he has already been in senior management for seven seasons with spells at Hoffenheim in 2016 at 28 followed by spells with RB Leipzig, Bayern Munich and now Germany, His teams play an attractive pressing style of football which the German squads seem to have gelled well within 2024.

Denmark’s Form
Denmark qualified for Euro 2024 by winning their qualifying group by goal difference from their head-to-head record after being level with Slovenia on 22 points. However, their group was not the strongest with Finland, Kazakhstan, Northern Ireland and San Marino as their opponents. They scored 19 goals and conceded 10.
The Danes are yet to have been beaten in 2024, initially opening their account with a 0-0 draw against the Swiss before they had a 2-0 win over the Faroe Islands. Ahead of the competition, they continued their strong form with a 2-1 win over Sweden and a 3-1 victory against Norway. Their tournament so far has been unspectacular with three draws 1-1 against Slovenia and England and a 0-0 against Serbia. However, those draws secured their passage to the Round of 16 and means they’re unbeaten in their last seven games.
Kasper Hjulmand has been in charge of the Danish National Team since August 2020 and he has so far brought them to a record of 33 wins, 8 draws and 13 losses for a win rate of 61.11%. Despite experimenting with his formation throughout the tenure he has favoured the 3-4-1-2 and that has brought about 14 shots per game, an average of 57.3% possession and a pass completion percentage of 86.7%.

Key Players To Watch
İlkay Gündoğan – Germany
The German Captain remains an integral player for club (Barcelona) and his country even though he is now 33 years old and has been playing professional football since 2008. As a midfielder, he can do it all with his 4.86 Shot Creating Actions, 73.10 Passes Attempted, 6.93 Progressive Passes and 2.07 Progressive Carries all stats in the 97th, 93rd, 85th and 79th percentile for all midfielders.

Gundogan was solid against Scotland, spectacular against Hungary but put in a poor showing against the Swiss. He remains key to their long-term tournament prospects.
Rasmus Højlund – Denmark
Ahead of the tournament, a lot was expected of the Manchester United striker after a solid first season in England. So far this tournament he has been poor across all three of his matches and will need to find form if Denmark are to shock Germany, but he has shown himself to be an efficient finisher with United and will need the same against a German side likely to dominate proceedings.

Rasmus also offers a lot of energy and endeavour from the front and will likely be tasked with regularly pressing the German defence in the hope he can create chances for himself.
Germany v Denmark Prediction & Best Bet
Prediction: Germany 2-0 Denmark
Germany started their home Euro 2024 tournament in such impressive fashion that it had some people scrambling to back them in the outright market and while they drew against the Swiss they do seem to have one of the most balanced sides in the tournament.
Denmark have been solidly unspectacular in the tournament thus far, but three successive draws suggest that at the very minimum, they are no pushovers and do have a nice blend of youth and experience in their squad.
All that being said, I expect a routine German win with little fanfare.
Best Bet: Germany Win + Under 2.5 Goals @ 12/5
