In this post, we have Galway Races Tuesday tips for you as we preview the card and analyse the latest betting ahead of another evening of top-class action from Ballybrit.

16:50 – 2m½f  COLM QUINN BMW Novice Hurdle (Listed) (4yo+)

The favourite for the opener in Galway is the WP O’Brien-trained Gaucher at odds of 10/11 who has won 3/12 of his races and looks to have the engine here to be successful again. The closest challengers for the race are Al Casparo trained by Gavin Cromwell and Gale Mahler trained by Adrian Keatley who are both 9/2 shots.

For if you want an outsider Evening’s Empire is the horse seen as least likely to win at odds of 50/1. However, the horse recently won over the flat and so might have come on further from the run.

17:25 – 2m2f Latin Quarter Beginners Chase (4yo+)

The favourite for this Beginner's Chase is Thecompanysergeant who will be ridden by Rachael Blackmore and trained by Denis Gerard-Hogan at odds of 6/4, came 4th in a Grade 1 last March but has subsequently finished runner-up in lesser company last two times out.

The horse expected to go closest to the favourite is Jet Setting Jim trained by John Queally who fell last time out in Tipperary but has 2 victories from 6 races and is priced at 2/1. Merlian Giant trained by Emmet Mullins is priced at 10/3 and has been off since last September so should be fresh for this outing. Bar 11/1.

18:00 – 7f COLM QUINN BMW Irish EBF Fillies Maiden (IRE Incentive Race) (2yo)

The A P O’Brien-trained Bubbling is the favourite at 6/5 and is expected to improve on her debut at Leopardstown earlier this month where she finished 4th and 4 lengths back of winner Exactly.

Lady Mairan who is a stakes entry will be making her debut and is seemingly highly thought of at odds of 5/2. Marazion trained by Mrs John Harrington is 3/1 is a Sea The Stars filly and is expected to come on from its debut at the Curragh last month. Bar 10/1.

18:40 – 7f Caulfield Industrial Irish EBF Maiden (3yo+)

Per the latest odds at BoyleSports, we’ve two horses currently fighting for favouritism ahead of this Maidan race. The current market leader is No Knee Never trained by Joseph Patrick O’Brien at odds of 2/1 who is expected to go much better than his effort at Gowen. Lucky Out for trainer Thomas Mullins is 5/2 and its recent run at Leopardstown gives grounds for a maiden success soon.

Elsewhere Yaxchilan at 4/1 has been tipped by many to go close here and Future Closest for E McNamara and Little Lady Lucy for Joseph Patrick O’Brien are both 13/2. Bar is 11/1.

19:10 – 1m½f  COLM QUINN BMW Mile Handicap (3yo+)

This race has been won by a horse with a double-digit draw for the past 7 years. However, it’s Booyea from (4) who is a strong favourite at odds of 7/2 suggesting a 22.2% chance of success. He was victorious at the Curragh last month and is now 8lbs up in the weights but is still expected to be the horse to beat here.

The second favourite is Plume Noire who is in solid form at odds of 7/1 the same trainer and rider team of Colin Keane and B Duffy combined to win this race in 2022. Bar is 9/1.

19:45 – 7f caulfieldindustrial.com Handicap (4yo+ 50-80)

Alpha Capture at odds of 2/1 is the current favourite for this race. Trained by W P Mullins and ridden by Colin Keane comes into the race up 3lbs in the weights following a recent success at Kilkenny and has an unfavourable draw but is still expected to go close to success.

Reidh is second favourite at odds of 3/1 for trainer Richard Fahey who looks to be well drawn. Imperial Dream for trainer Patrick J Flynn at odds of 6/1 has been runner-up the last two times out. Bar is 9/1.

20:15 – 1m½f Caulfield Industrial Handicap (4yo+ 50-70)

Ahead of the final race at this Summer Festival event, this is arguably the most competitive race on the card with several horses having claims to success but no blindingly obvious “stand out” name.

The narrow favourite per the latest odds at BoyleSports is Blackcastle Storm who is up 11lbs from his last two runs but is expected to still have enough to go close for the team of jockey Declan McDonagh and trainer Matthew J Smith. One Boss for trainer W McCreery and River Derwent for Thomas Coyle are both 13/2 shots.

However, this is the largest field of the meeting and with several similarly priced horses, it’s very hard to pick a winner! If backing you should probably bet “each way” Bar 7/1.
