Sean Gallagher’s odds on winning the upcoming Irish Presidential Election have shortened to 9/2 from 5/1 after the businessman received 5 endorsements from Roscommon, Mayo, Leitrim, Wexford and Cavan.

Gallagher formally requested that Offaly withdraw their support for his nomination as he has received enough to be the first confirmed rival to incumbent Michael D Higgins (1/6).

Fellow Dragon, Gavin Duffy received three endorsements from Meath, Carlow and Wicklow, with Louth County Council expected to follow on Monday, which saw his odds shorten into 10/1 from 16/1.

The third presidential hopeful hailing from Dragons Den, Peter Casey, remains an outsider at 100/1 as he continues meetings to seek endorsements.

Casey has currently received nomination from Galway County, is awaiting a decision from Monaghan, expected on Friday, and Offaly, as three Independents and Renua Ireland councillors have yet to make their voting intentions clear.

As a result of the recent movement of the Dragons Den candidates in the presidential race, we were forced to cut there odds on Any Dragons Den winning the election from 4/1 to 5/2.
