Six-time All-Ireland winner Diarmuid Connolly has claimed promotion from Division Four must be a priority for Cavan this season ahead of National League throw-in this weekend.
At 8/15 in the betting to earn promotion as champions in the bottom tier, Cavan are the hottest favourites in any of the National Leagues to top their division and Connolly believes only Tipperary should give them any cause for concern ahead of their opener against Leitrim on Sunday.

DIARMUID CONNOLLY'S TIPS FOR NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE DIVISION THREE
Speaking to BoyleSports, Connolly said: “Wexford got their first win in the Championship in seven years last year, but just like Sligo, Carlow, Leitrim, Waterford or London, it’s hard to know what they would have to offer at this time of the year.
“Getting back up to Division Three has to be high on Cavan’s list of priorities this year. They won the Ulster Championship two years ago just like Tipperary won Munster, yet they find themselves sitting in the bottom division.
“They are clearly the two top teams in the division, but it’s not good for teams with such huge history to be down there. Cavan would be rightly at the top of the betting for promotion, just ahead of Tipperary.”
