All-Ireland winner Shane Dowling believes Waterford will prove to be the main dangers to his native Limerick as they prepare to begin their National Hurling League campaigns this weekend.
The Na Piarsaigh man spoke exclusively to BoyleSports’ Leon Blanche this week and feared Liam Cahill’s men have what it takes to put it up to the All-Ireland champions.
"But the way things have gone with the Championship tightening up,
"There isn’t going to be a huge break between the League the Championship as there has been before.

“Tipperary are 6/1 and even though I do think they will beat Laois this weekend, there is a new manager. This means that there will be lots of transition so I can’t have them at the minute.
"Galway have a lot to prove even though they are under Henry Shefflin.
"I don’t think Cork are going to be concentrating on the League so much as the Championship. They will be looking to get back to where they were last year in terms of the All-Ireland.
"But if I was to have a few quid on another team it would definitely be Waterford at 8/1.”

Limerick
“Limerick are Evens favourites and they are a shorter price to win the All-Ireland. So if you are going to back them to win something this year then this is the competition, as it’s a bit more value."But if I was to have a few quid on another team it would definitely be Waterford at 8/1.”
