Friday ITV Racing Tips
An afternoon of action from Cheltenham can always warm up any winter's day and we’ve got ITV racing tips from all five Prestbury Park races on the box this Friday.
With a cracking card of competitive handicap contests to get stuck into, punters can choose whether to back these selections as singles or in multiple bets.
Cheltenham 13:15 Tip
Cheltenham 13:15 – French Emperor
This lightly-raced five-year-old has made rapid improvement since stepping into handicap company this term, following up a first career win at Worcester by keeping on well to beat a big field at Cheltenham’s November meeting. More progress is expected.
Cheltenham 13:50 Tip
Cheltenham 13:50 – King Turgeon
David Pipe’s grey won this race last year off just 2lb lower, coming home three lengths to the good in what was a solid renewal.
Having shown up well for a long way when seeking back-to-back victories in the Grand Sefton at Aintree on his seasonal debut, King Turgeon should now be sharper for that spin.
Cheltenham 14:25 Tip
Cheltenham 14:25 – Torn And Frayed
The 11-year-old has been in fine form in veterans’ races this season, scoring at Aintree in between placed efforts at Chepstow and Warwick, while he has also run well on several occasions at Cheltenham in the past.
Cheltenham 15:00 Tip
Cheltenham 15:00 – Mister Coffey
Since prevailing on three of his first four starts, Nicky Henderson’s luckless 10-year-old has gone 20 races without adding to that tally, but he has performed with credit in defeat on numerous occasions.
He enjoyed a change of discipline when tried over Cheltenham’s cross-country course last term, twice finishing second before a fair fifth at the Festival, and last month’s runner-up effort over regulation fences here augurs well for another bold showing back over the banks.
Cheltenham 15:35 Tip
Cheltenham 15:35 – Lucky Manifest
Following a couple of comfortable victories at Kelso, Tom Lacey’s gelding showed plenty of guts when second of 18 behind A Pai De Nom at the Open meeting.
He stayed on strongly up the Cheltenham hill that day, so moving up in distance to three miles looks a wise move.
