Racing’s new Friday Night Live initiative gets under way at Wolverhampton this week, with organisers promising to bring a fresh approach aimed at attracting younger racegoers.
Created in partnership with Invades, the five evening fixtures form part of a concept challenged with “engaging with the next generation of horse racing fans”.

The four-year-old was always just doing enough when scoring by a neck on the first occasion and then kept on nicely to again prevail by less than a length.
It is always hard for the handicapper to get a grip on such progressive sorts who don’t win by far and there is every chance Zoulu Warrior has a bit more left up his sleeve.

Representing the same Oxfordshire handler, this fellow son of Zoustar has to carry top weight against plenty of in-form sprinters over six furlongs but may have the class to cope.
Formerly a decent juvenile who won a valuable nursery at York ’s Ebor meeting in 2023 , the five-year-old was clearly rejuvenated by a gelding operation last summer.
Following placed efforts in competitive heats on turf at Windsor , Goodwood and Newmarket , Zoulu Chief took full advantage of a drop in grade when powering to a three-length course and distance success in November .
That was certainly an impressive all-weather debut and a 7lb uplift may not stop him from doubling up.

WOLVERHAMPTON 18:30 – BELA SONATA
Oliver Cole ’s filly really caught the eye when an easy winner at Newbury on her handicap bow in July but she did not run again last season.
Not surprisingly, the handicapper has hiked her mark, putting her up 8lb , but she had previously shown she can handle an artificial surface and could simply be a cut above the opposition again.

Ian Williams has really found the key to this six-year-old son of Siyouni , who has obliged on four of his last five outings since teaming up with apprentice pilot Ryan Kavanagh .
Tonal ’s winning run began with a wide-margin romp off a lowly mark of 51 and he has since won comfortably off 56 , 62 and 68 just last week.
He races here off 73 under a 5lb penalty but is actually still 1lb well-in, as his revised mark is 74 .
