French Open  Odds - Men’s Favourites

Carlos Alcaraz - 6/4

The Favourite for the 2024 French Open is Spanish sensation and World Number (3) Carlos Alcaraz at odds of 6/4 suggesting a 40% chance of success. His best finish at the event was his Semi-Finals appearance last season.

Despite being only 21, he has already been playing on the pro tour since 215 and has become a multiple Grand Slam winner with his US Open success in 2022 and Wimbledon success in 2023 and boasts a career record of 177–48 (78.4%) he is expected to be the heir to the darting throne when Dkokvic when he ends his career.

There has been debate in tennis circles for years about how the sport would fare when the likes of Federer (now retired, and Nadal (impending retirement) leave the pro tour. However, the sport has found its newest superstar, Alcaraz (21) since turning pro in February 2020 at (16) he has already won  12 Career Titles.

Carlos opened his French Open campaign with a straight sets victory 1-6, 2-6 and 1-6 over American JJ Wolf. That was followed by a second round victory over J de Jong 3-6, 4-6, 6-2 and 2-6. In the third round Carlos had another straight sets victory over USA Man this time 4-6, 6-7 and 3=6 against Sebastian Korda.

He finally booked his place in the Quarter-Final following a 3-6. 3-6, 1-6 straight sets victory against World Number (21) Félix Auger-Aliassime. He faces Stefanos Tsitsipas for a place in the Semi-Final against Grigor Dimitrov or Jannik Sinner.

Victory at the 2024 French Open would bring his Grand Slam haul to 3 titles and would mean he would significantly improve on his best-ever performance at the event which was a Semi-Final finish last season.

Jannik Sinner – 10/3

Next in the betting is another one of the rising tennis stars Jannick Sinner (22) at 10/3 who had his maiden Grand Slam victory in the Australian Open last January when he defeated  Daniil Medvedev 3–6, 3–6, 6–4, 6–4, 6–3.

Jannik has been in sensational form in 2024 with a season record of 28–2 (93.3%), which has brought him 3 calendar titles The Australian Open, Rotterdam Open and Miami Open which has seen him rise to World Number (2).

Jannik opened his French Open campaign with a straight sets victory 3-6, 3-6 and 4-6 over American Chris Eubanks. That was followed by a second round victory over Frenchman Richard Gasquet again in straight sets 4-6, 2-6 and 4-6. In the third round he again failed to drop a set beating Pavel Kotov 4-6, 4-6 and 4-6.

He booked his place in the Quarter-Final despite dropping his first set against Corentin Moutet before winning 6-2, 3-6, 2-6 and 1-6. He faces Grigor Dimitrov for a place in the Semi-Final against either Stefanos Tsitsipas or Carlos Alcaraz.

Novak Djokovic -  11/4

Pre Tournament favourite for the 2024 French Open World Number (1) Novak Djokovic has drifted to 11/4 in the odds suggesting a 15.4% chance of success. Novak has won this event 3 times, including the most recent iteration of the competition in 2023.

Despite turning pro back in 2003, Djokovic is still dominating the tennis tour in 2003 with a career record of 1101–219 (83.4%) and 98 Career Titles making him the 3rd most successful player in the Open Era. His 2023 French Open success came in a  straight sets 7-6, 6-3 and 7-5 victory over Casper Ruud.

Novak is widely considered not only one of the greatest tennis players of his generation but by extension one of the greatest tennis players of all time. He stands alone at the top of the Grand Slam Tennis table with 24 titles to his name 2 more than Rafael Nadal and 4 more than Roger Federer.

His tournament so far has been a tale of two halves, winning his first round against P-H Herbert 6-4, 7-6 and 6-4 in straight sets and his second round against Roberto Carballés Baena in straight sets 6-4, 6-1 and 6-2. Those straight sets victories were followed by two grueling wins first against World Number (3) Lorenzo Musetti 7-5, 6-7, 2-6, 6-3 and 6-0 and then against World Number (23) Francisco Cerúndolo 6-1, 5-7, 3-6, 7-5 and 6-3.

Novak faces World Number (7) for a place in the Semi-Final against either Alexander Zverev or Alex de Minaur.

Victory at this event would extend his phenomenal Grand Slam record and few would count him out winning again, at 11/4 looks to be a value bet.

Alexander Zverev– 6/1

Fourth in the betting is German Tennis Star Alexander Zverev at odds of 6/1 suggesting a 14.3% chance of claiming his first Grand Slam success at the French Open

While not one of the leading market fancies, Zverev is a strong player on tour with a consistent record of 423–186 (69.5%) (at ATP Tour level, Grand Slam level, and in Davis Cup) and 22 career titles shows that he can’t be ridden off winning any tournament.

Zverev started his French Open campaign with an impressive straight-sets victory against serial French Open winner Nadal with a 6-3, 7-6 and 6-3 to continue his impressive run of form. That was followed by a 7-6, 6-2, 6-2 victory against David Goffin.

He then overcame two hardly fought games 3-6, 6-4,, 6-2, 4-6 and 7-6 win against World Number (26) Tallon Griekspoor and 4-6, 6-1, 5-7. 7-6 and 6-2 victory against World Number (13) Holger Rune.

He faces Alex de Minaur in his next game for a place in the Semi-FInal against either Novak Djokovic or Casper Ruud.

Casper Ruud– 13/2

Fifth in the betting is Casper Ruud at odds of 13/2 suggesting a 13.3% chance of claiming his first Grand Slam success at the French Open

Casper (25) is another rising star on the tennis tour since making his debut back in 2015 on the professional tour he has already accumulated a tour record of 246–124 (66.5%) and 12 Career Titles. His best finish at a Grand Slam prior to this event was when he also reached the Quarter-Final at Wimbledon in 2021.

He commenced his tournament with a straight sets win over Felipe Meligeni Alves 3-6, 4-6 and 3-6. In the second round he defeated Alejandro Davidovich in a 6-7, 6-1, 3-6, 6-4, 3-6 scoreline. He then beat World Number (28) Tomás Etcheverry 4-6, 6-1, 2-6, 2-6 and World Number (12) Taylor Fritz 6-7, 6-3, 4-6 and 2-6.

Casper faces Novak Djokovic for a Semi spot against Zverev or Alex de Minaur.

Stefanos Tsitipas – 18/1

Next in the betting is Greek player Stefanos Tsitsipas at odds of 18/1 suggesting a 5.3% chance he lands his maiden Grand Slam success following two previous finals in the Australian Open (2023) and French Open (2021).

Tsitipas is another regular scorer on the tour with a career record of 325–152 (68.1%) and 11 career titles. He had an impressive straight sets win in the first round over Márton Fucsovics 6-7, 4-6 and 1-6 and was hailed for an “UNBELIEVABLE SHOT” following a brilliant forehand.

In the second round he defeated German Daniel Altmaier 3-6, 2-6, 7-6 and 4-6 before beating Zhang Zhizhen from China in straight sets 3-6, 3-6 and 1-6. He booked his place i the Quarter-Final with a 6-4, 6-7, 2-6 ad 2-6 victory against Matteo Arnaldi

He will face tournament favourite Carlos Alcaraz for a Semi spot against Dimitrov or Sinner.

While not the most likely of winners, he will be a dangerous opponent for those at the top of the betting market.
