Piastri opened the 2025 season with a disappointing 9th finish at the Australian Grand Prix, but since then he hasn’t looked back, winning 4 of the next 5 races: the Chinese Grand Prix, Bahrain Grand Prix, Saudi Arabian Grand Prix and the Miami Grand Prix.
Last weekend Piastri overcame a challenging weekend where he overcame both a head-on collision with the barrier at Sainte Devote in FP2 and scraping walls during qualifying, yet still secured a podium finish.

The third favourite for the Spanish Grand Prix is Max Verstappen (27), who is coming off his second race win of the season last weekend at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.
Despite a close to half a decade of dominance on the circuit ahead of the season, Red Bull were expected to struggle to retain the Drivers Championship and even more so to compete for the Constructors Championship with the Red Bull car finishing fourth fastest in pre-season testing behind McLaren, Mercedes and Ferrari.
Though not the dominant force he has been in previous seasons, his exceptional race craft and experience have helped him stay competitive for Red Bull this season. At the Japanese Grand Prix, he took Pole Position and went on to win the race, he took Pole Position in Saudi Arabia, Miami.
Verstappen took his first victory of the F1 season at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix as well as posting the fastest lap. In the 2024 season, Russell performed well outperforming his teammate Hamilton 19-5 and going on to come ahead of him in the championship. The highlight of the season was when he won winning Las Vegas Grand Prix leading home a 1-2 for Mercedes.
Russell has gone from strength to strength this season finishing 4th, 3rd, 5th, 2nd, 5th, 3rd in his opening six races. However, his form has seemingly dropped off in recent races finishing 7th at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix and most recently 11th in the Monaco Grand Prix.
