Manchester United look set to appoint Erik ten Hag but a former Red Devil insists they should have gone for Chelsea's Thomas Tuchel.
Ralf Rangnick's time as Interim Manager at Old Trafford is nearing to completion, with ten Hag seemingly the board's choice over Mauricio Pochettino, also heavily linked with the full-time position.
However, ex-Man Utd striker Louis Saha reckons the club should have waited a bit longer to pounce on Chelsea's Tuchel, with the Blues' current situation up in the air following the club's sale by Roman Abramovich.

"Mauricio Pochettino and Erik Ten Hag are great names, you can see straight away that those guys can do great work," said the Frenchman, speaking to BoyleSports.
"They're both good with young players, but sometimes you feel they need more experience in terms of trophies and pedigree.
"At United it's not about playing well, it's about winning trophies. I'm not convinced until they take the job and prove it to us.
"They may help them play well and develop younger players, but that does not guarantee the Premier League or the Champions League.
"Thomas Tuchel has shown in the last two years that he's more than capable. He brings a guarantee and that's not just because he won the Champions League, but the manner he has.
"I'm a big fan, but it's going to be a tough job for the board to get him."
LOUIS SAHA IS NOT CONVINCED BY THIS AT FORMER CLUB EVERTON
Looking at United's season, their chances of a top four place to qualify for the Champions League are fading, with Arsenal and Tottenham the likely duo to battle it out for final spot.
And Saha believes Cristiano Ronaldo has been a success this season and disagrees with criticism aimed at the 37-year-old.
Furthermore, the French ace thinks Jesse Lingard should be utilised way more than he has been, from now until the end of the season.
"Why don't they build young players around Cristiano Ronaldo? Let them learn and improve around him," said Saha.
"If those players cannot improve and grow, then they are not good enough. I don't agree at all that Cristiano has to move on - under criticism he has done well.
"The team hasn't played well and I don't like Cristiano being targeted.
"I think Wayne Rooney has got a point when he says Jesse Lingard needs to play more regularly.
"He's a local boy, hungry and he wants to play. He played well at West Ham, but Man United is a different animal and Bruno Fernandes should be asking for that and Lingard will respect that."
