World Cup Team of the Tournament

The 2026 World Cup came to an end on Sunday evening with Spain securing their second men’s title with a 1-0 victory over Argentina .

There have been a number of outstanding individual displays throughout the tournament, with youngsters emerging as potential stars along with some established names also impressing.

The 17-year-old was one of the breakout young stars in a tournament dominated by established names, one that will not be remembered for the emergence of new talent.

Johan Manzambi

Midfielder - Johan Manzambi (Switzerland)

Another emerging name who proved himself fearless in possession of the ball as Switzerland made the quarter-finals, earning him a reported £52million move to Aston Villa .

Jude Bellingham

Lionel Messi

The only thing missing was a performance in the final to earn his country a second consecutive World Cup but otherwise was majestic in likely his last tournament.
