Tunisia enjoyed an almost perfect qualifying campaign to reach their third successive World Cup. They won 28 points from a possible 30 and did not concede a single goal as they finished a massive 13 points clear in CAF Group H.
However, their Africa Cup of Nations campaign hinted at disappointments to come, winning only one of their four matches and being eliminated at the first knockout stage by Mali following a penalty shoot-out.

Like Tunisia, the Dutch were among the most dominant teams during qualifying, topping Group G unbeaten with a combined goal record of 27-4 , and they had a decent enough World Cup build-up without pulling up any trees.
