Spain’s bid to emulate their 2010 World Cup triumph continues with a quarter-final clash against a Belgium side who have had a roller-coaster campaign so far. The Red Devils started slowly before thrashing New Zealand 5-1 to snatch top spot in Group G, and then survived a massive scare to beat Senegal in the last 32.
Belgium showed their attacking power again to crush the USA and book a third quarter-final appearances in four World Cups, but we think this could be the end of the road for them. The Spain World Cup 2026 squad also took a while to find their stride but now look fully up to speed and, with Lamine Yamal fit and firing combined with a defence that has yet to concede a goal, they should be too strong for their fellow Europeans.
Our first Spain vs Belgium prediction is for Luis de la Fuente’s side to win 1-0, 2-0 or 2-1 @ 15/8 in a BOYLE Sports Price Boost.

A goalless draw with minnows Cape Verde in their World Cup opener cast doubt over the Spain World Cup team’s tag as pre-tournament favourites, but the return to fitness of Barcelona teen sensation Yamal has helped spark a change of fortune. They comfortably saw off Saudi Arabia before squeezing past Uruguay to finish top of Group H , and then had little trouble with Austria in the last 32 to set up a mouth-watering clash with Portugal.
Spain had to wait until stoppage time to finally make the breakthrough against their local rivals but Mikel Merino’s goal sealed a deserved victory for the European champions. The Spanish defence is the only one yet to be breached in the finals and in our World Cup tips today we’re going for another clean sheet, with odds of 11/8 for Belgium to score under 0.5 goals .
We’re also backing Mikel Oyarzabal to add to his tally of four goals. Only Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe have had more attempts on goal than the Real Sociedad striker in these finals and his tally of 29 is more than the combined total of the next two Spanish player, Yamal and Ferran Torres . Another of our World Cup tips today is for the hugely influential Yamal to either score or assist in the 90 minutes @ Evens.

Belgium have looked in danger of exiting the World Cup on more than one occasion but now find themselves two games away from a first final. Draws with Egypt (1-1) and Iran (0-0) meant anything other than victory over New Zealand in their final group game could have spelled the end of Belgium’s challenge.
A 5-1 demolition of the group’s worst team saw off that risk as Belgium progressed in top spot, but they found themselves in an even bigger hole in the last 32 as they trailed Senegal 2-0 with four minutes left. Once again the Red Devils turned the tide, with goals from Romelu Lukaku and Youri Tielemans sending the tie to extra time where the Aston Villa man scored a last-gasp penalty.
Belgium then put aside the controversy surrounding USA striker Folarin Balogun’s availablility to hammer the co-hosts 4-1 in Seattle . Lukaku climbed off the bench in that match to net his third goal of the finals, and the veteran forward is 9/4 to score against the Spanish. However, Spain to win after drawing at half-time @ 10/3 completes our World Cup best bets.
