Scotland return to football’s biggest stage for the first time in 28 years and we’re looking at how they will fare this summer in our 2026 World Cup Group C Predictions .
Brazil are the headline act in this section, but with two teams qualifying automatically for the knockout stage and a number of third-placed sides also set to progress, there is everything to play for.
This is how we rate the four World Cup Group C teams in reverse order, followed by our best bet:

Haiti
4. Haiti @ 100/1
You have to go back to 1974 for the only other time Haiti got this far and they conceded 14 goals in three straight defeats on that occasion.
Topping a qualifying pool featuring Honduras , Costa Rica and Nicaragua was no mean feat and French coach Sebastien Migne , who once played for Leyton Orient , has plenty of experience, but Les Grenadiers have gone out at the group stage in three straight CONCACAF Gold Cup appearances.
Scotland
3. Scotland @ 12/1
The Tartan Army enjoyed some memorable World Cup trips between 1974 and 1998 and Scotland can be assured of strong support after ending a wait of almost three decades to get back to this level.
Appearing in the last two European Championships will have been good preparation and the spirit shown in a dramatic 4-2 defeat of Denmark that booked them on a flight to America should also stand them in good stead. Head coach Steve Clarke is a calm head and there are several strong leaders on the pitch too, including captain Andy Robertson and key midfielders Scott McTominay and John McGinn .
Despite some memorable moments, Scotland have never advanced beyond the group stage in eight previous attempts, but opening up with a game against Haiti gives them every chance to hit the ground running here.

Morocco
2. Morocco @ 9/2
We desperately wanted to give Scotland an automatic qualifying berth, but the harsh reality is Morocco are a really good side, as highlighted by their place inside the top 10 of the FIFA rankings.
The Atlas Lions made it all the way to the semi-finals four years ago, beating Belgium during the group stage and knocking out Spain and Portugal before France ended their fairytale run. Morocco followed that up by reaching the final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations on home turf and had a 100 per cent record in qualifying for this tournament.
A late change of manager from Walid Regragui to Mohamed Ouahbi is a slight concern, but the latter did lead the Under-20s side to World Cup glory last year and has inherited a side featuring quality such as PSG ace Achraf Hakimi , Real Madrid’s Brahim Diaz and Noussair Mazraoui of Manchester United.
Brazil
1. Brazil @ 1/5
The Selecao have flattered to deceive since securing their fifth World Cup triumph in 2002, going out in the quarter-finals four times and infamously losing 7-1 to Germany in the 2014 semis on home turf.
However, safely negotiating the group phase has not been a problem since 1966 and they retain enough of an aura to make them red-hot favourites in this section under legendary boss Carlo Ancelotti. Fifth place in the South America qualifying table wasn’t exactly impressive, with two losses to leaders Argentina featuring among six defeats overall, and subsequent friendlies have produced mixed results.
This is when it matters most, though, and star man Vinicius Junior will have the support of a vastly-experienced Brazil World Cup 2026 squad that may not quite have the flair of former sides, but definitely does not lack heart and desire.

Brazil/Morocco straight forecast @ 11/10
The Atlas Lions have made great progress in recent years but the Selecao can still have a mental edge in the race for top spot in the World Cup Group C table.
