Rangers play host to Celtic in the first Old Firm derby of the season with a place in the Premier Sports Cup semi-finals up for grabs. The Light Blues are now starting to find their feet under new boss Derek McInnes after an awful start and they face their arch-rivals having won six of their last seven games.

Celtic are in similarly fine form. They have claimed victories in eight of their nine fixtures this season, although their sole defeat was a humiliating and costly one as they were dumped out of the Champions League by LASK Linz.

The Glasgow giants met six times last season, with honours ending pretty even. Celtic twice won 3-1 at home while Rangers also claimed a 3-1 victory at Parkhead , while the three Ibrox encounters finished in draws after 90 minutes.

Hoops boss Martin O’Neill said this week: “It’s a big, big test for us, away from home, and with no fans. We have to play very strongly in the game and we need to raise our game.”
