Manchester City will look to get the better of Brighton at the Etihad for the second time in four days as top plays third in the Premier League on Saturday. City bounced back from their first league defeat of the season at Aston Villa last weekend by beating the Seagulls to reach the Carabao Cup quarter-finals in midweek, although it was far from easy.
A much-changed City side had to twice fight back from a goal down to salvage a 2-2 draw, before then edging out the south-coast side on penalties. City are likely to welcome back the likes of Erling Haaland, Elliot Anderson and Rúben Dias for their rematch against Brighton but they will be bracing themselves for a similarly tough encounter.
