Tottenham should find out if their victory over Coventry on Monday 19 October is a turning point in their season or a false dawn as they travel to in-form Chelsea on Saturday 24 October.
Spurs moved off the foot of the table after beating the Sky Blues 3-1 to record their first Premier League win of the campaign.
James Maddison, in his first start since May 2025 after recovering from a serious knee injury, opened the scoring and although Coventry levelled after the break, Omar Marmoush and Ben Davies sealed a much-needed win for Spurs.
Roberto De Zerbi’s men will now seek to build on that result against Chelsea, but the trip across the capital poses a formidable challenge.
Spurs have not won at Stamford Bridge since 2018, losing eight of 10 matches in that time, while Chelsea are looking an increasingly effective unit under Xabi Alonso.
The Blues have won four of their five league and cup matches at home this season, drawing the other, and we think they will add another win @ 4/6 in Saturday’s tea-time kick-off.

Form Guides
Chelsea Form Guide
Chelsea have been the great entertainers this season with their nine league and cup games producing an average of over 4.5 goals each.
That average goes up even further at Stamford Bridge, where there have been a remarkable 26 goals in Chelsea’s last four matches, with wins over Brighton (4-3), Leeds United (6-3) and Bournemouth (5-1) combined with a 2-2 draw with Hull providing thrills and spills, and no doubt frayed nerves, for supporters.
And we can only see more of the same on Saturday, and a Chelsea win with BTTS (@ 19/10) or over 3.5 goals in total (@ 13/10) both look good options as the Blues chase a 16th win in 20 meetings with Spurs.
As for who will score those goals, João Pedro has struck five times already this season and has a decent record against Spurs. He netted the only goal of the game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last term, while his brace of penalties helped former club Brighton to a 4-2 win over Spurs in 2023/24.
The Brazil forward is 20/21 to score at any time this weekend, but Cole Palmer (11/8), Morgan Rogers (13/8) and Pedro Neto (9/4), who scored twice at Everton on 17 October, are also possibilities.

Tottenham Form Guide
Spurs head to west London looking to continue their promising form since the international break. De Zerbi’s expensively assembled side had lost four of their opening seven games, with their only victory coming against Charlton in the Carabao Cup, but they have looked a side capable of much more over the last two weeks.
They impressed at Manchester United despite needing a stoppage-time Dominic Solanke equaliser to salvage a 1-1 draw, and then saw off Coventry to get that morale-boosting first league win.
Marmoush opened his account for the club on Monday night and the on-loan Manchester City man is 11/4 to net another this weekend, while fit-again Maddison is 12/1 to open the scoring again.
However, it is corners where we see the best angle. Spurs have had the most corners in the Premier League this season with 46 while Chelsea are fourth with 42, and you can get 13/10 for there to be over 11.5 corners at Stamford Bridge.
