Hopefully, this list isn’t too obvious, with a splash of new signings and hot prospects mixed in with several established stars.

Erling Haaland

ERLING HAALAND (Manchester City)

We’re making no apologies for starting out by predicting Haaland will continue his incredible goalscoring exploits for City . After replacing Pep Guardiola , Enzo Maresca must have been delighted to see rumblings of a move to Real Madrid quickly peter out and the Norway striker is again expected to prove a nightmare for opposing defenders. Odds of 4/6 for a record-equalling fourth Premier League Golden Boot triumph may soon seem generous!

Christos Tzolis

CHRISTOS TZOLIS (Arsenal)

The Gunners haven’t rested on their laurels since claiming a first Premier League title in over two decades and Tzolis looks a shrewd capture as a replacement for Leandro Trossard following his transfer to Besiktas . The ex- Norwich player has been a bit of a slow-burner but impressive stints with Fortuna Dusseldorf and Club Brugge have set him up for another crack at England’s top flight.

Morgan Rogers

MORGAN ROGERS (Chelsea)

The Blues finished last season in a bit of a mess, so it was no surprise to see the Stamford Bridge board ringing the changes once more. The arrival of Xabi Alonso as manager is a huge boost and new additions on the pitch don’t come much more exciting than Rogers , who is set to link up well with good friend Cole Palmer . Chelsea are 10/11 to make the top four.

Mason Mount

MASON MOUNT (Manchester United)

The former Chelsea and England midfielder has been plagued by injury problems since moving to Old Trafford in July 2023 but finished off last term with a nice little run of games and has really caught the eye for United in pre-season friendlies this summer.

Milos Kerkez

MILOS KERKEZ (Liverpool)

It wasn’t a silky smooth transition to Anfield for the left-back last season but there were clear signs of improvement as the campaign went on and being joined on Merseyside by Andoni Iraola , his old boss at Bournemouth , has prompted excited comments from the Hungary international.

Sandro Tonali

SANDRO TONALI (Tottenham)

Roberto De Zerbi has wasted no time in revamping what was a sorry Spurs midfield last season and we’re expecting an instant improvement in that department. Mateus Fernandes represents real potential after joining from West Ham but former Newcastle ace Tonali is already the finished article and expected to make an immediate impact, with Tottenham 11/10 for a top-six finish.

Morgan Gibbs-White

MORGAN GIBBS-WHITE (Nottingham Forest)

Forest had a bit of a roller-coaster campaign last season but the form of Gibbs - White over the second half of it was very impressive, despite a nasty facial injury. The attacking midfielder has developed into the kind of player you can build a team around and new head coach Oliver Glasner will no doubt see him as a pivotal piece of his plans.

Luka Vuskovic

LUKA VUSKOVIC (Brighton)

Albion are used to having their assets stripped by other Premier League clubs and then replacing them with fresh bargain buys, so paying up to £50million for relatively untried defender Vuskovic is an eye-catching move. There may be a settling-in period, but the 19-year-old Croatia international is definitely one to follow and the Seagulls are 4/7 to finish in the top half of the table again.

Joao Gomes

JOAO GOMES (Aston Villa)

Villa have had to navigate around a tricky transfer window following some high-profile departures but landing 25-year-old Brazil midfielder Gomes from Wolves is a rock-solid move. Sometimes it is better to examine what the selling club says about a player and Wolves technical director Matt Jackson stated: “Joao deserves everything he gets from the game. He’s the type of professional that coaches love and players love, so he will go on to be the outstanding player that we know he is.”

William Osula

WILLIAM OSULA (Newcastle)

The Toon Army needs some good news after losing well-respected manager Eddie Howe and several star players, so they will be praying Osula can build on the promise he showed last term. The deciding goal he scored against Manchester United was superb and five more strikes in his final seven appearances augurs well. Anyone fancy an each-way punt on his Golden Boot odds of 100/1?
