Manchester City have a trophy treble firmly in their sights after going top of the Premier League , but in-form Southampton could give them a run for their money in the FA Cup semi-finals.
City ended Arsenal 's 200-day tenure as league leaders with a 1-0 win over Burnley on Wednesday and are now ahead of the Gunners on goals scored, with five games remaining.
Having already lifted the Carabao Cup , City will now switch their attention to adding another FA Cup to their collection this season as they head to Wembley to face Southampton . Tonda Eckert 's Championship side are 11/1 underdogs with BOYLE Sports but it is by no means a foregone conclusion, with Saints on a 20-match unbeaten run and having already claimed the top-flight scalps of Arsenal and Fulham on this cup run. But we still expect City to get the job done, and our opening Manchester City v Southampton prediction is for them to win 1-0, 2-0 or 2-1 @ 9/4.

Head to Head
Manchester City v Southampton Head-to-Head Record
Manchester City have dominated recent meetings with Southampton , winning the vast majority of their Premier League encounters in recent seasons. However, cup football has a habit of levelling the playing field and Saints have shown on this run they are not here to make up the numbers.
Southampton have already beaten Arsenal and Fulham on their way to Wembley this season, proof that Eckert 's side carry a real threat regardless of the opposition.
Form Guides
Manchester City form guide
Pep Guardiola has once again showed his mastery of title races to put City in pole position heading into the final straight of the Premier League , and now he will look to do likewise in the FA Cup . City are appearing in the semi-finals for the eighth successive year under Guardiola and have gone on to lift the trophy in 2019 and 2023, while finishing runners-up in 2024 and 2025.
They have not been knocked out by lower-league opposition since the 2017/18 fifth round, when they suffered a shock 1-0 loss to third-tier Wigan , and we cannot see another upset happening on Saturday despite Southampton 's fine form. It should be close, though, and City to win after drawing at half-time is 7/2, looking at the Manchester City v Southampton odds. Alternatively, you can get 13/8 for Guardiola 's side to emerge victorious and both teams to score.
Erling Haaland netted a hat-trick against Liverpool in the quarter-finals and is 7/4 to open the scoring on Saturday, while Antoine Semenyo is 20/23 to net in a third FA Cup tie since joining City in January.
Southampton form guide
Saints could hardly be in better form heading into their third FA Cup semi-final in nine seasons, where they will be seeking to claim a third successive Premier League scalp. Since losing 2-1 at home to Hull on January 17, they have gone unbeaten in 20 matches, winning 16 and keeping eight clean sheets.
They would be heading to Wembley off the back of a nine-game winning streak but were held 2-2 by Bristol City at St Mary 's on Tuesday. Despite that result, Southampton remain in the thick of the promotion hunt, sitting fourth and just three points behind second-placed Ipswich , and they will go into the cup semi-finals with nothing to lose.
Ross Stewart could be the biggest threat to City 's hopes. The Scotland forward scored in the wins over Fulham (1-0) and Arsenal (2-1) and also notched in midweek, his seventh goal in 16 games, and he is 4/1 to notch at Wembley in our Manchester City v Southampton betting tips. Cameron Archer , who also scored against Arsenal and has two in his last three games, is also 4/1 while winter signing Cyle Larin is 7/2 to add to his seven goals in Saints colours.
