Gary McAllister Opens BOYLE Sports’ First Shop in Scotland

BOYLE Sports has opened its first-ever retail outlet in Scotland, with former Tartan Army midfielder Gary McAllister on hand to officially cut the ribbon at the new shop in Motherwell.

McAllister welcomed customers through the doors before taking part in a special in-store Q&A, where he reflected on his distinguished playing career and spoke warmly about the important role Motherwell played in his development as a young footballer.

McAllister, who began his senior career at Fir Park before going on to represent Leicester, Leeds, Coventry and Liverpool, said: “I had really good, experienced coaches at Motherwell and guys who knew the game. They set the standards so high. Playing with those guys and being coached by those people gave me a great start in my career.”

The opening represents a significant milestone for BOYLE Sports as the bookmaker establishes a retail presence in Scotland for the first time, adding Motherwell to its growing network of shops across the UK and Ireland.

Founded by John Boyle in 1982, BOYLE Sports has grown to become Ireland’s largest independent bookmaker and the move into Motherwell forms the latest part of its renewed £100 million-plus investment in the UK, announced last year.
