West Ham United will be looking to extend their nine-game unbeaten run in the Championship on Saturday and will go top of the table if they win and Swansea fail to win at QPR.

Southampton have bounced back well from a complicated end to the 25/26 season, when they were thrown out of the play-off final for spying on Middlesbrough's training.

Had it not been for the four-point deduction that followed, they'd be in fourth place on 21 points, just one behind the Hammers.

How to Watch

How to Watch West Ham United vs Southampton

West Ham United vs Southampton kicks off at 3pm on Saturday 24th October at London Stadium.

As a Saturday 3pm kick-off, the game falls inside the UK blackout, so it won't be shown live on UK television.

Head-to-Head

West Ham United vs Southampton Head-to-Head

West Ham United and Southampton have already met this season, in the second round of the League Cup in August, where the Hammers ran out comprehensive 4-1 winners at St Mary's Stadium.

Léo Scienza gave the Saints a 10th-minute lead, before a brace from Joshua Ajala and a goal each from Taty Castellanos and Jarrod Bowen turned the tie around.

Per 11v11, Saturday's game will be the 156th competitive meeting between the sides. The first came in December 1899 in the Southern League First Division, when Southampton beat the Hammers, then still playing as Thames Ironworks, 3-1.

Across those meetings, West Ham United have consistently been the stronger side, with 66 wins to Southampton's 47 and 42 draws.

Team News

West Ham United vs Southampton Team News

West Ham United Team News

Tomas Soucek is back in contention after the ankle injury he picked up at the World Cup and marked his return with two goals off the bench in the 6-0 win at Lincoln City.

Mohamadou Kanté, sent off in the 2-2 draw at Millwall in September, has served his ban and started the 1-0 win at Swansea.

Southampton Team News

Tonda Eckert will be sweating on the fitness of Cyle Larin. The Canadian striker, the division's second-top scorer with seven goals, was forced off in the first half against Bolton after colliding with goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu.

Predicted Line-Ups

West Ham United vs Southampton Predicted Line-Ups

West Ham United (4-2-3-1): Hermansen; Veltman, Mavropanos, Kilman, Morato; Mukasa, Engels; Bowen, Kanté, Solomon; Pablo

Southampton (4-2-3-1): Peretz; Bree, Stephens, Schlotterbeck, Welington; Ward-Prowse, Bragg; Azaz, Léo Scienza, Fellows; Larin

West Ham United are expected to name an unchanged side from the one that won at Swansea, with Tomas Soucek and Taty Castellanos both options from the bench.

Southampton are likely to stick with the side that drew with Bolton, but Cyle Larin's place depends on his fitness. If he misses out, Tonda Eckert will need a new focal point up front.

Form Guides

West Ham United vs Southampton Form Guides

West Ham United Form Guide

The Hammers head back to the home comforts of London Stadium off the back of a 1-0 win at Swansea on Saturday 17th October, courtesy of a 34th-minute goal from on-loan Manchester City teenager Divine Mukasa.

That win was their sixth since relegation from the Premier League , and extended their unbeaten league run to nine games.

It leaves West Ham United second on 22 points after 11 games, one point behind Swansea.

Captain Jarrod Bowen has been the standout performer in the Championship this season. His six goals and five assists add up to 11 goal involvements, the most of any player in the division.

Southampton Form Guide

Southampton come into this match on the back of a 0-0 home draw with Bolton, where, ironically, their former goalkeeper and Republic of Ireland international Gavin Bazunu was among the visitors' star performers.

That draw took their tally from the last five league games to 10 points.

The Saints are currently eighth on 17 points, but that doesn't tell the full story.

Their record this season is six wins, three draws and just two defeats. Without the points deduction from the Spygate fallout, they'd be fourth and only one point behind their opponents on Saturday.

There's plenty of quality in this Southampton side, including Republic of Ireland international Finn Azaz, who has three goals and five assists from his 11 Championship games this season.

Cyle Larin has scored seven league goals, while former Hammer James Ward-Prowse, at 31, has plenty of life left in his legs yet in the middle of the park.

Betting Tips

West Ham United vs Southampton Betting Tips

West Ham United Win @ 8/13

West Ham United have been hard to live with at London Stadium, scoring 20 goals in their five home league games. Three of their six league wins have come there, against Wolves 4-2, Derby County 3-0 and Wrexham 6-0.

The only defeat in front of their own fans was a 2-1 loss to Charlton in their second league game of the season.

History is on their side too. The Hammers have won 45 of their 74 home meetings with Southampton, losing just 13. With that kind of record at London Stadium, they look a solid pick to take all three points against the Saints.

Jarrod Bowen Anytime Goalscorer @ 21/20

Jarrod Bowen has led the Hammers' promotion push from the start of the season. The captain has six goals and five assists in the Championship, and no player in the division had more goal involvements going into the weekend.

He has scored in three of his five league games at London Stadium, against Wolves, Wrexham and QPR.

He found the net again in the 6-0 win at Lincoln City on Wednesday 14th October, and also scored against Southampton in the cup meeting in August, so he is well worth backing to score again on Saturday.

Over 2.5 Goals @ 2/5

Goals have followed the Hammers all season. Their 11 Championship games have produced 42 goals, close to four a game, and eight of them have finished with three or more goals.

London Stadium has been even more lively. Four of their five home league games have gone over 2.5 goals, and the only exception was the 1-1 draw with QPR. On average, their home matches have produced four goals a game.

The cup meeting between these two sides in August also went comfortably over, with West Ham United winning 4-1 at St Mary's. With the division's highest scorers at home against a Southampton side that has scored 21 league goals of its own, three or more goals looks a strong bet.
