The Bundesliga shield ended up in Bayern Munich’s hands for the 13th time in 14 years last season and it proved another one-horse race.
Vincent Kompany’s side were beaten just once as they clinched the title with four games to spare and broke a host of records in the process.
Here we look at what to expect from Bayern’s latest title defence and which clubs could upset the status quo in the 2026-27 season in our Bundesliga outright winner odds .
Bayern Munich
Bayern Munich @ 1/8
Bayern have long been the dominant power in German football, winning 29 more Bundesliga titles than any other club, but last season saw them more ruthless than ever. They lost only three times in 55 matches across all competitions - to Champions League final duo Arsenal and Paris St Germain in Europe and Augsburg in the Bundesliga - and scored in every single game.
Bayern’s tally of 122 league goals also smashed their own Bundesliga single-season record of 101, set in 1971-72, and is the second-highest tally recorded in Europe’s top-five leagues behind Italian side Torino , who scored 125 in 1947-48 when playing six games more.
Harry Kane enjoyed the best scoring season of his career with 61 goals in just 51 appearances, while his combination with Luis Diaz and Michael Olise produced more than 100 goals. The Bavarians have since added Ismael Saibari and Nathaniel Brown to their ranks and it would be a huge surprise to see them knocked off their Bundesliga perch in the coming season.
Borussia Dortmund
Borussia Dortmund @ 10/1
Dortmund finished runners-up to Bayern last season, as they have now eight times since winning back-to-back titles in 2011 and 2012 under Jurgen Klopp . They were never seriously in contention though, finishing the campaign 16 points behind the champions and losing both ‘ Der Klassiker ’ showdowns against their rivals.
BVB have lost forward Karim Adeyemi to Barcelona while Julian Brandt , Salih Ozcan and Niklas Sule have also moved on, but boss Niko Kovac will nevertheless be setting his sights high in his second full season in the hotseat.
Dortmund are 6/4 to finish as the Bundesliga's leading team other than Bayern , and that looks a solid bet to us.

RB Leipzig
RB Leipzig @ 14/1
Leipzig do not have the storied history of some of their rivals but they have more than held their own since winning promotion to the Bundesliga for the first time in 2016. The Saxony club finished runners-up in their inaugural top-flight campaign and have been either second or third on five occasions since then, with their lowest position being seventh in 2025.
Leipzig bounced back from that disappointing campaign by finishing third last term and earning a return to the Champions League , although that was not enough to save Ole Werner from the sack.
Martin Demichelis is the new man in charge and the former Argentina and Bayern Munich defender has outlined what he expects from his new side, saying: “Intensity is an important part of Leipzig's identity. For me, this includes passion, courageous and attacking football, but also aggression.” Leipzig are 4/11 to finish in the top four this season and that will be their expectation.
Bayer Leverkusen
Bayer Leverkusen @ 16/1
Leverkusen are firm outsiders to repeat their historic 2023-24 title-winning campaign under Xabi Alonso but finishing in the top four, at odds of 4/9, should be well within their powers. Die Werkself have claimed a top-six spot in 17 of the last 18 seasons, with their average league placing in that time being between fourth and fifth.
They finished sixth last term but being in the Europa League rather than the Champions League this season could prove more beneficial to their domestic challenge.
Other candidates to finish in the Top 4: Stuttgart 5/2, Hoffenheim 4/1, Eintracht Frankfurt 6/1.
