FA Cup Tips – 3rd Round Predictions
Boreham Wood vs Burton
Boreham Wood to Beat Burton
The Wood are flying high in the National League thanks mainly to their excellent home form this season, securing 10 wins at Meadow Park in that division.
Boreham have already cruised past League Two outfits Crawley and Newport in the cup at this venue, prevailing 3-0 on each occasion, and Burton look vulnerable following three straight League One defeats without scoring.
Burnley vs Millwall
Millwall to Win or Draw at Burnley
The Clarets are without a win in 12 Premier League matches and are eight points from safety, so Scott Parker may take this chance to rest some of his players following a busy festive period.
Millwall have a proud history of doing well in the FA Cup and are well placed to have another good go this term after Sunday’s home success versus Swansea left them fifth in the Championship table.
Doncaster vs Southampton
Doncaster to Beat Southampton
Rovers were left reeling by a run of five straight defeats in League One but there had been green shoots of a recovery prior to an encouraging 1-1 draw with Bolton , when they created plenty of chances.
Southampton head to Eco-Power Stadium under a cloud after a 4-0 drubbing at Middlesbrough made it six Championship games without a win and they may struggle to play their passing game on a difficult pitch.
Fulham vs Middlesbrough
Fulham to Beat Middlesbrough
Boro enjoyed a much-needed boost when brushing aside the Saints after failing to score in four straight Championship fixtures but that result will only reinforce the priority of chasing promotion this term.
Fulham have a decent record in cup competitions since the arrival of Marco Silva and the Cottagers are in great spirits after following up a 2-2 draw with Liverpool by beating Chelsea 2-1 .
Stoke vs Coventry
Stoke to Beat Coventry
Results over the past 10 days have made the Potters a much more attractive proposition going into this tie, with Stoke securing away wins at Hull and Norwich , while Coventry ’s impressive campaign has just stalled slightly with two defeats and a draw.
With the added spice of Mark Robins being determined to put one over his former club, we’re happy to take a nice price for the hosts here.
