Lewis Hamilton ended 477 days of hurt when landing the first podium of his Ferrari career in China and is fancied to build on that fine display in our Japanese Grand Prix predictions .
Mercedes may have been the dominant force early on this season, but it has also been an excellent start for the Prancing Horse outfit, claiming third and fourth in both races so far.
Hamilton showed promise when making late gains on team-mate Charles Leclerc in Melbourne and then outperformed the Monegasque in Shanghai . The 41-year-old is a five-time race winner at Suzuka and appeals at 5/6 to again make the podium in the Japanese Grand Prix odds .

Hamilton: ‘I definitely feel like I am back’
Hamilton struggled throughout his opening campaign at Ferrari , but the seven-time world champion has been revitalised by this term's smaller, lighter, nimbler generation of cars, which resemble a throwback to his glory years. The British legend said, "I definitely feel like I am back, both mentally and physically, to my best. But I still feel there is room to improve.
"I started this voyage, this dream of moving to Ferrari and being on the top step with them."This podium has taken longer than I had hoped. But after a difficult year, to be able to develop and work on this season's car gives me huge pride."
He added: "A first win is more in sight than ever before…I really do believe in everyone at Maranello …I know it is not exactly where we want to be, but we have a great platform to work off." Hamilton and Leclerc , who traded positions six times during a fascinating duel in China , are both quoted at 9/1 to claim outright victory this Sunday.
Chasing Pack
Russell receives Antonelli warning.
Mercedes remain the team to beat, and George Russell is a hot favourite at 8/15 to secure a maiden Suzuka success, but Kimi Antonelli showed in Shanghai that he is not content to simply play a supporting role.
The Italian teenager took full advantage of Russell's technical issues during qualifying to claim pole position and delivered a composed drive on race day to become Formula One's second youngest winner behind only Max Verstappen.
"I am speechless. I want to cry, to be honest," reacted Antonelli . "I said that I really want to bring Italy back on top, and I did that." There was a heart-in-mouth moment when he ran wide at the last but one corner with three laps to go and lost two seconds, but Antonelli showed he has the pace to trouble Russell and is 9/4 for another pole this weekend hopes of landing a fifth straight Japanese Grand Prix v ictory look bleak after he broke down from sixth place following an engine failure with 10 laps to go in China .
The Red Bull ace again slammed this season's "painful" new rules and is 25/1 to turn things around with a shock win in Japan .
