Kimi Antonelli has had to contend with some bad luck of late but we’re tipping him to get back on track in our Belgian Grand Prix predictions . Having built up a 66-point lead at the top of the drivers’ championship with a run of five straight wins, that gap is down to 25 following some reliability issues.
The Italian failed to finish in Barcelona and another mechanical problem left him trailing home in 15th place at the British Grand Prix , either side of claiming third in Austria . However, there are no concerns about Antonelli’s pace after he secured a fine Sprint win at Silverstone and went quickest in qualifying.
In the race itself, the 19-year-old surrendered pole position with a slow start but reeled in Lewis Hamilton 11 laps later and was hunting down Charles Leclerc when a suspension failure struck his Mercedes late on. The good news is that Spa-Francorchamps should play to Antonelli’s strengths, with long straights and fast corners allowing him to put his foot down.
As long as there are no more technical gremlins and the weather stays dry, the teenage sensation looks a worthy favourite at 7/5 in the Belgian Grand Prix odds .

Russell buoyed by results, but not performance levels
Mercedes team-mate George Russell has recovered well from his own shaky spell to record a win and two seconds from the last three races and is 3/1 to pass the chequered flag first this weekend. However, the Briton is fully aware of Antonelli’s superior speed and under no illusion that he needs to find more pace if he is to secure a maiden title triumph.
“I left Monaco 68 points behind and I’m now 25 points behind, so I’ll take it,” said Silverstone runner-up Russell . “But it will continue like that unless the performances improve. “Whether the luck is balanced out or not, I’m not sure. However, based on my performances and his performances,a 25-point gap in his favour is probably correct. He has done a better job to this point.”
After an unsatisfactory ending to the British Grand Prix behind a safety car, Charles Leclerc claimed his first win in almost two years for Ferrari and is 11/2 to follow up at Spa-Francorchamps .
Team-mate Hamilton started third and finished in the same position after a last-ditch gamble to change tyres cost him second and he is now 32 points behind Antonelli in the title race.
Hamilton can be backed at 7/2 to equal Michael Scumacher’s record tally of six Belgian Grand Prix wins, while Red Bull’s Max Verstappen is 12/1 to prevail for the fourth time in this event and will no doubt be hoping for rain.
