David Moyes is back at the club where he spent over a decade from 2002 to 2013, following his return last January. While initially tasked with steering the club away from relegation with them in 16th when he returned, he successfully guided them to a 13th-place finish. Ahead of the 25/26 season, positive things were expected of the club following some high-profile additions, including Dewsbury-Hall, Grealish on loan and Dibling.
Despite a difficult pre-season, their league form has continued to be consistent with wins over Brighton and Wolves, a draw with Aston Villa and narrow defeats to Leeds and Liverpool. Though they did lose in the Merseyside Derby last weekend, their performance on the whole was encouraging, with Grealish causing Bradley serious issues.
Everton chose to rotate their starting side considerably midweek in their 2-0 EFL Cup exit to Wolves, though most of their “heavy hitters” did come off the bench. When these sides played in pre-season, Everton played with a 3-4-2-1 formation, but I’d expect them to continue their 4-2-3-1 formation for this game.

Following the removal of Graham Potter from his position on Saturday, the club acted promptly to replace him with the announcing his replacement on the same day in Nuno Espírito Santo who signed a 3 year contract with the club. The new man in the dugout comes with a proven track record with the likes of Wolves , Al-Ittihad, and was harshly removed from his position at Nottingham Forest earlier this season after an excellent 24/25 campaign.
Prior to the appointment of Nuno The Hammers had alternated between a 4-2-3-1 and a 3-4-1-2 formation under Graham Potter. Nuno Espírito Santo should suit this group of footballers down to a tee with his favoured formation also a 4-2-3-1. From Nuno's sides you can expect disciplined, compact defending and quick, direct counter-attacks
While Nuno will certainly require time to get used to his new squad, as well as the players with him. This appointment could potentially be a match made in heaven. Expect Max Kilman who he previously managed at Wolves to be integral to his vision for the side and new signings like Diouf and Fernandes to continue to thrive under his coaching.
