Tottenham battled hard to pick up a Champions League point in Monaco on Wednesday and would no doubt settle for the same result when making another tricky trip to Everton.

Stalemates are certainly commonplace in this fixture, as although the Toffees shaded a 3-2 home victory last term, the previous five Premier League meetings at Goodison Park all ended even.

The hosts are unbeaten at their new Hill Dickinson Stadium base, but Aston Villa and West Ham have secured a share of the spoils there, so 23/10 for a draw here is our opening Everton vs Tottenham prediction.

Head-to-Head Record

Everton vs Tottenham head-to-head record

Spurs have enjoyed four straight home wins over Everton but the last time they beat them on Merseyside was almost seven years ago.

Following all those Goodison draws, the Toffees raced into a 3-0 half-time lead last January and held on despite late efforts from Dejan Kulusevski and Richarlison.

Iliman Ndiaye scored in that game and is going along nicely this term, netting in home wins over Brighton and Crystal Palace, hitting the target for Senegal during the international break and causing Manchester City plenty of problems last weekend.

The 25-year-old is 5/2 to strike at any time here and that feels a fair price in the Everton vs Tottenham odds.

Everton Form Guide

David Moyes is doing well in his second spell with the Toffees and has turned them back into a typically dogged and determined outfit, buoyed by the odd flash of genius from a rejuvenated Jack Grealish.

Eight of their 11 points have come at home but the away performances have also been solid enough, winning 3-2 at Wolves, only going down by the odd goal at Leeds and Liverpool and making Manchester City work hard for a 2-0 success.

Having created some good first-half chances, Moyes felt his side gave a good account of themselves at Etihad Stadium, stating: “We’ve done a lot of good things and there’s no disappointment for me regarding the play.”

Spurs looked a touch leg-weary when surrendering an early lead in last Sunday’s 2-1 home loss to Villa and were far from their best at Stade Louis II in midweek, relying on goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario to hold out for a goalless stalemate.

Manager Thomas Frank commented: “I think some of the saves were exceptional. He’s a big part of why we got a hard-fought point.”

It was another disjointed display in attack but that was Tottenham’s first 0-0 draw in 125 matches, so it would be strange if that happened again here.

Spurs have managed to follow up previous Champions League games with decent away displays, drawing 2-2 at Brighton and winning 2-1 at Leeds.
