Everton v Liverpool Preview

Everton’s Form

Everton are one of the six English clubs who have never been relegated since the establishment of the Premier League in 1992 along with Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham and Chelsea. However, last season's financial issues and points deduction nearly was their undoing but Dyche still managed to guide them to a 15th finish.

The club were expected to struggle again this season but with the club 15th and 14 games in and most importantly 5 points clear of the relegation zone they can be somewhat satisfied with how the season has gone so far. However, their recent 4-0 win over Wolves to bounce back from their own 4-0 defeat to Man United last weekend just shows the stark difference in standards across the league this season.

Everton beat Liverpool last time around and another shock victory would likely see them climb even further away from the relegation places.

Liverpool’s Form

Arne Slot has the difficult task of replacing Liverpool’s most successful manager in the Premier League era Jurgen Klopp who departed the club during the summer. They elected to retain the core of their squad from last season with little upheaval to counteract the managerial change. Their midweek dramatic draw against Newcastle was their first points dropped in several weeks, though if that’s how often and the types of games they drop points in the club are likely Premier League winners in 24/25.

In the Premier League, they’ve been the most consistent side this season under new manager Arne Slot with 35  points from their opening 14 games to have them 7 points ahead of closest challengers Arsenal and Chelsea and 9 points ahead of Man City. They have the second-best attack with 29 goals scored and the best defence with only 11 conceded.

Liverpool at a minimum will maintain their lead at the top of the league with a win, which will be a big boost before the beginning of the Christmas period.

Key Players To Watch

Dwight McNeil - Everton

Dwight is one of the few attacking bright sparks in this Everton side playing LM/AM he has 4 goals and 3 assists across 15 in all competitions so far in 24/25 and though he had one of his quieter games in their midweek win, he is still arguably their most talented footballer.

He can be gotten at 14/1 to score first and 11/2 to score at any time.

Mc Neil Anytime Goalscorer 7 5 Add to betslip

Mohamed Salah - Liverpool

The man affectionately known as “The Egyptian King” by Liverpool fans might be approaching the “Twilight” of his career at (32) but he remains a constant menace for opposition defenders.

This season he has already 15 goals and 12 assists in 21 games across all competitions. He can be gotten at 10/3 to score first or at  EVS to score at any time in this game.

Everton v Liverpool Prediction & Best Bet

Prediction: Everton 0-2 Liverpool

Everton secured a huge early season victory in their hopes of avoiding a relegation battle midweek with their 4-0 win over Wolves and head into

Liverpool faced a setback midweek with their dramatic 3-3 draw against Newcastle but still look to be a class above everyone else so far this season.

Everton may have won the game the last time around and though this is Slot’s first Merseyside Derby I still think Liverpool will have too much for Everton.

Best Bet: Liverpool Win + Under 3.5 Goals @ 5/4
