Northern Ireland vs Germany
NORTHERN IRELAND VS GERMANY BTTS @ 5/6
Germany cruised to the top of the Group A table following Friday’s 4-0 stroll versus Luxembourg, but Northern Ireland are level with them on six points thanks to an excellent 2-0 victory over Slovakia in Belfast.
Michael O’Neill’s men kicked off their campaign with a 3-1 win in Luxembourg and gave Die Mannschaft a good test in Cologne before going down by the same scoreline.
This is obviously a tough task, but Windsor Park will be bouncing again, and O’Neill looks set to take a positive approach after the latest success, declaring: “They rose to the occasion and we have everything to gain in the game against Germany on Monday.”
North Macedonia vs Kazakhtan
NORTH MACEDONIA TO BEAT KAZAKHSTAN TO NIL @ 20/21
Blagoja Milevski has turned North Macedonia into a tight unit and a very efficient outfit when it comes to seeing off lesser opponents.
They finished off a successful Nations League campaign with five straight clean-sheet victories and have already secured three wins to nil in an unbeaten start to their World Cup campaign, beating Liechtenstein twice by an aggregate score of 8-0 and prevailing 1-0 in Kazakhstan.
Wales only snatched a 1-1 draw in Skopje via a stoppage-time equaliser, and Friday’s goalless stalemate with Belgium in Ghent was another rock-solid defensive display after also taking a point off the Red Devils at home.
Ukraine vs Azerbaijan
UKRAINE -1 GOAL TO BEAT AZERBAIJAN @ 4/7
France appear set to run away with Group D, but Ukraine are well placed to make the play-offs following Friday’s thrilling 5-3 triumph over Iceland in Reykjavik, which featured two late strikes for the away team.
Former Tottenham and West Ham striker Serhiy Rebrov will now look to build on that by brushing aside Azerbaijan, who held the Blue and Yellow to a 1-1 draw in Baku but have struggled on the road, being thrashed 5-0 in Iceland and 3-0 when visiting France.
Slovenia vs Switzerland
SLOVENIA AND SWITZERLAND TO DRAW @ 23/10
Switzerland are strong favourites for Group B following a 2-0 away win over a Sweden side featuring Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres and Liverpool forward Alexander Isak.
However, a 65th-minute Granit Xhaka penalty and an added-time deflected effort from Johan Manzambi may have just flattered the victors, who could now settle for playing it safe after starting out with three straight wins.
The Red Crosses are no strangers to drawing matches, having shared the spoils in Kosovo and Israel during qualifying for Euro 2024 and then finishing level with Scotland, Germany and England at the end of normal time in the finals.
Slovenia were beaten 3-0 when these teams met in Basel last month, but that came in between stalemates with Sweden at home and Kosovo away, so a side captained by excellent Atletico Madrid keeper Jan Oblak and led up front by Manchester United’s Benjamin Sesko are value for another draw here.
