Stuttgart continue their DFB-Pokal title defence at Mainz tomorrow and that is one of four European matches we have selected which could bring a combined 18/1 pay-out.

Ligue 1 Tips

Lens To Beat Metz With Over 1.5 Goals @ 8/11

Metz’s miserable run continued with a 6-1 hammering by Lille, and things could be about to get even worse for the promoted side.

While winless Metz prop up the division with just two points from nine games and are conceding almost three goals per match on average, Lens defeated in-form Marseille on Saturday to replace them in the top two of Ligue 1 - a point behind Paris St Germain.

Lens have now picked up 13 points from a possible 15 since losing at PSG, although they have not been prolific scorers and their last three games have all finished 2-1.

Marseille To Win Both Halves Against Angers @ 6/4

Marseille's stint atop Ligue 1 proved short-lived and 2-1 defeats to Sporting Lisbon and Lens has stalled their momentum domestically and in Europe after five successive wins.

However, we think Roberto De Zerbi's side, who took the lead in both of those losses, will get back on track against Angers at the Stade Velodrome, where they are on a nine-game winning streak.

Angers climbed out of the bottom two with Sunday's 2-0 victory over Lorient, but they have picked up just one point away from home and have beaten OM just once in the last decade.

Serie A Tip

Bologna To Beat Torino With Under 3.5 Goals @ 5/4

Bologna's enviable home record should give them the edge against Torino as the Rossoblu seek to break into the top four of Serie A.

Vincenzo Italiano's men have won all three of their home league matches this season and only lost two of 19 games at the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara last term. Moreover, the Coppa Italia holders have not lost at home to Torino since 2016.

Neither team has won this fixture by more than a two-goal margin in their last 14 meetings so do not expect Bologna to run away with it, although we think they will come out on top.

Torino are 12th but have recovered well since losing 5-0 to Inter Milan in their Serie A opener and their last three games have seen them draw 3-3 with Lazio before beating Napoli and Genoa.

Bundesliga Tip

Stuttgart To Beat Mainz @ 21/20

Stuttgart face Mainz for the second time in four days hoping their away-day blues do not derail their DFB-Pokal defence at the second-round stage. Sebastian Hoeness’ side, who lifted the cup for only the fourth time in club history last season, defeated Mainz 2-1 in the Bundesliga at the weekend to make it five wins from five in front of their own fans this campaign.

However, it has been a very different story away, suffering all five of their defeats on their travels while they needed a penalty shoot-out to win their cup opener at second-tier Braunschweig following a 4-4 draw.

Mainz’s troubles are even more pronounced though. Their loss in Stuttgart was their sixth defeat in eight Bundesliga games and left them 16th on four points, 14 worse off than their third-placed opponents.
