UEFA European Championship Trophy Euro 2024

As part of a recent interview with BoyleSports, Ally McCoist made some surprising Euro 2024 semi-finalist predictions.

The former Scottish football star and TV pundit also revealed his Euro 2024 winner prediction plus who he is expecting to be in line for the England job if Gareth Southgate departs after this tournament.

Euro 2024 Semi-Finalists Prediction

In no specific order. Romania. I liked the look of Romania. I've got to say I was really impressed with them. I thought their performance against Ukraine was excellent and the first goal was absolutely out of this world.

I really thought it was a tremendous game and the Romanians were brilliant. On top of that, I know it sounded a little bit crazy, but I thought Austria did all right against France.

I genuinely did. I thought they were a little bit unlucky not to take something from the game. They lost to their own goal and I thought they looked okay.

Spain obviously impressed with a great 3-0 victory against Croatia. I thought they were comfortable. And the other one would have to be the host nation. The Germans have started well. So two fancied nations that have impressed me so far would be Spain and Germany.

And two relatively unfancied nations would be Romania and Austria, who I thought looked pretty good as well, even in defeat against the French.

*Austria are 8/11 to qualify from Group D per the latest football odds at BoyleSports.

Euro 2024 Winner Prediction

I'm sticking with Italy to win the tournament.

I think it's really open from what I've seen so far. I think Albania scoring late on against Croatia probably helped Italy. I'm doing the game tonight, which I'm really looking forward to.

I'm going to watch the England game then I'm doing Italy vs Spain. I can see that being a draw.

They obviously got the shock by conceding the earliest goal in the tournament, the earliest goal in European Championship history and they actually recovered quite well.

So I just think it's not an obvious one to go for. A lot of people are obviously going for England, France, Germany. I just quite like the look of their talents quietly under the radar.

*Italy are 18/1 to win the Euros per the latest football odds at BoyleSports.

This Could Be The Next England Manager If Southgate Leaves After Euros

I think the FA will appoint another Englishman because they have a good degree of success in terms of improvement in the team, improvement in the squad, improvement in tournament results under the current system.

I think he might stay. A lot of people think if he won it, he would go. I think if he actually won it, he might fancy a crack at the World Cup.

I think if England don't win it, he might go. There's the option obviously Manchester United. But I think they might go home again. Eddie Howe would be an interesting one. It'd be an obvious choice for me. But I think he's got a massive decision to make because I think he's thoroughly enjoying the project he's in at Newcastle, to tell you the truth. But I don't think it'd be a bad move because I can see a lot of similarities between Gareth and Eddie.

*England are 4/1 to win Euro 2024 at BoyleSports.

I use the word success kind of carefully, but success in getting to finals, semi-finals, that's a lot better than England have done prior. So I think that'll influence the FA, I really do.

I think when you go for a foreign manager, particularly a high-profile manager. It can work for you but it also has its problems.

*Prices are subject to fluctuation.
