Speaking exclusively to BoyleSports, Chelsea and France legend Frank Leboeuf has given his Euro 2024 semi-final predictions and tips.
Leboeuf, a Euro 2000 winner with France, has given us his assessment of France’s performances in this tournament to date and what their prospects are against Spain who have been the form team in this Euros.
The former Chelsea star was also glowing in his praise of Cole Palmer for England (although critical of his celebration and haircut) plus weighed in on speculation that Spain’s Nico Williams could consider Chelsea as a possible next destination.
Euro 2024 Semi-Final Predictions & Tips
If I’m talking as a neutral I’d love it to be a Spain vs Netherlands final. I think they have been the best two teams in terms of entertainment and probably deserve to be in the final the most.
However, football isn’t just about entertainment and Didier Deschamps has proven that if you’re solid at the back you can get results.
England have been good to watch in other tournaments, but now they are effective but not good to watch but are solid.
I want entertainment and although I respect England and France, they do not play the football that I like.
If I’m honest, I’m confident for France against Spain, we are so solid at the back and I think we can keep out Yamal and Williams.
Spain v France Prediction
I want entertainment and I’d prefer Spain and Netherlands in the final, but I think in the semi-final it will be 0-0 and France will win on penalties.
*France to beat Spain on penalties is 8/1 per the latest football odds at BoyleSports.
Euro 2024 Winner Prediction
I think it will be England vs France in the final and as a Frenchman, I have to say I think France will win it.
Cole Palmer’s Impact For England
Can Palmer be the Player of the Year? Well, I'm not too bothered about that, but I can say that every time Palmer comes on for England they play well.
Palmer is the only guy who I can compare his impact to is Zola at Chelsea, in terms of his first season. He’s incredible.
He also seems like a great character, he might need to change his celebration because it’s boring and maybe his haircut, too! What a player he is, though, and I hope he shines for Chelsea for a long time.
*You can back Cole Palmer to score and England to win against the Netherlands at odds of 11/1.
Why Spain’s Nico Williams Won’t Make Chelsea Move
Nico Williams would be fantastic for Chelsea – but do you think he would go to Chelsea? They don’t have Champions League football.
I follow La Liga and he has been brilliant for Bilbao all season. To put it his way, if I was Williams, I would never go to Chelsea. I saw so many players move to Saudi Arabia and I lost respect for them - like Ruben Neves who moved to Saudi at such a young age.
I couldn't have done that and it’s a similar situation to Nico Williams. So many big clubs want him and it would be odd for him to move to a club where they are not in the elite European tournament.
