UK Eurovision Hopes Hit a Flat Note

Odds slip to 100/1 for Vienna victory

The United Kingdom’s hopes of ending their long wait for Eurovision success appear to be fading, with BOYLE Sports pushing the UK out to 100/1 (from 66/1) to win the 2026 contest in Vienna.

This year’s entry comes from YouTuber Sam Battle, who will perform under his well-known alias Look Mum No Computer with the track Eins, Zwei, Drei .

As part of the ‘Big Four’, the United Kingdom is automatically through to the Grand Final this Saturday, avoiding the perils of the semi-finals which kick off tonight. However, the betting suggests confidence is low that the UK can secure a first Eurovision victory since Katrina and the Waves triumphed nearly three decades ago in 1997.

At the head of the market, Finland remain solid favourites at 11/8, with Greece (5/2) rated a close challenger. That leading pair in the betting go head-to-head in Tuesday’s opening semi-final, with Finland’s Linda Lampenius & Pete Parkkonen odds-on at 4/6 to come out on top and cement their credentials as likely winners come the Grand Final.

Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BOYLE Sports, said:

“Sam Battle offers something a bit different for the UK, but the jury is out on whether he will strike the right chord with voters. Punters expect a tough night in Vienna and are looking instead to Finland or Greece to hit the high notes.”
