England v South Africa Preview
England Form
England have been a mixed bag of form under Head Coach Steve Borthwick in 2024 their Six Nations journey began with victories albeit narrow coming 24-27 against Italy and 16-14 against Wales. That was followed by a 30-21 loss against Scotland but in their next game, they claimed a huge bragging rights win 23-22 over Ireland before concluding the competition with a 33-31 loss against France. They grew into competition against the supposed stronger sides.
During the Summer Internationals, they commenced their second campaign of the International season with a convincing 17-52 victory over Japan in Tokyo. In their remaining games, they played out two competitive fixtures against New Zealand albeit coming out on the wrong side of the scoreline both times 16-15 and 24-17 with both games held in New Zealand.
They opened the Autumn Series playing New Zealand with them coming out the wrong side of a narrow 22-24 scoreline in England. That was followed by a 37-42 defeat against Australia last weekend.
South Africa Form
Following their narrow World Cup Final success defeating New Zealand 11-12 in October 2023 the Springboks did not return to the field until the June Internationals where they first beat Wales in a 41-13 scoreline before playing out an entertaining series against Ireland winning the first game 27-20 before losing 24-25 the window was concluded with a 64-21 win over Portugal.
Their Rugby Championship journey commenced with two victories over Australia coming in 7-33 and 12-30 scorelines. They continued their winning run against their bitter rivals the All Blacks winning 31-27 and 18-12. However, they were shocked in their penultimate games against Argentina 29-28 before securing the Rugby Championship in the reverse fixture with a 48-7 win.
They commenced their Autumn Nations campaign with a 15-32 victory against Scotland last weekend.

Key Players
Marcus Smith – England
The magic man from Fly Half England International Marcus Smith (25) oozes quality, class and flare in everything he does on the field. In his 36 caps for England since debuting in 2021 he has 260 points. He can make things happen for England on Saturday afternoon.
Smith gets the nod at no. 10 for this game against South Africa and he is 13/10 to score 12+ points.
Cheslin Kolbe – South Africa
In a Springboks side where the forwards often receive the bulk of the plaudits and attention (quite literally), Toulon Winger Cheslin Kolbe (31) is a very exciting attacking threat and has 101 points from his 368 caps for his country since debuting back in 2018. Cheslin is not only a prolific try threat, but his biggest asset is his ferocious pace which garnered plenty of attention at the Rugby World Cup.

England v South Africa Prediction & Best Bet
Prediction: England 10-26 South Africa
English Rugby has gone through a period of transition, but in recent fixtures, they’ve shown themselves to be a capable side against the strongest of nations and running the All Blacks close three times.
World Champions South Africa though look to be a different class to everyone else right now and are expected to continue their flying form on Saturday with another win.
England are no pushovers, but I still think the Springboks will win comfortably enough in the end.
Best Bet: Cheslin Kolbe Anytime Try @ 11/8
