We have an England v Greece prediction for you plus a breakdown of the betting odds, team news and matchups ahead of their Nations League fixture.
England look to be an infinitely more exciting side under interim manager Lee Carsley with far more attacking line-ups chosen for his first two games in charge.
Greece are also under the tutelage of a new manager with Ivan Jovanović appointed full-time to the role he has also had an impressive start to his tenure with two wins from two games.

England v Greece Preview
England’s Form
Since Carsley took interim charge of England on the 9th of August the “Case for Carsley” taking the role on a full-time basis has gone from strength to strength despite manufactured media melodramas about the rights and wrongs of singing an anthem. He has quickly stamped his authority on the squad with Madueke, Solanke, Lewis and Gomes all coming in. Another positive result and performance here will do his case no harm.
Carsley has switched between a 4-3-3 vs Ireland and a 4-2-3-1 against Finland for his opening two games in charge scoring two goals in both games and conceding none. The general statistics look strong too with 19 shots per game an average of 77.5% of possession, a pass completion percentage of 90.3% and 9.5 aerials won.
England are far too good for Nations League Group B and have shown as much in their opening two fixtures, expect a similar story this time around.

Greece’s Form
Ivan Jovanović is the new man in charge of Greece following his appointment on the 1st of August. This is his first foray into International management and this England game will be his toughest assignment yet following a coaching career in the club game with teams across Greece, Cyprus and Dubai.
Similar to Carsley he has alternated his formations from his first two games in charge using a 4-3-3 against Finland and a 4-2-3-1 against Ireland scoring two goals in both games and conceding none. The general statistics look less strong than England though with 9.5 shots per game an average of 48.4% of possession a pass completion percentage of 85.3% and 9.5 aerials won.
Greece have done well in their opening two games, but this test presents a very different challenge that I think they will struggle to pick up points in.

Key Players To Watch
Ollie Watkins – England
With the absence of Kane through injury, it’ll be interesting to see who leads the line for England and how they perform. The man I’m tipping to get the nod is Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins who has 4 goals from 15 caps with England. For Villa this season he’s continued in strong form with 4 goals and 3 assists from 9 games and his pace, finishing and link-up play could fit very well into the Carsley system.
Konstantinos Mavropanos – Greece
The West Ham defender (26) has arguably been Greece’s standout performer since debuting for the senior side in 2021. He is a very strong defender with his 1.68 interceptions, 4.81 clearances and 2.34 aerials in the 91st, 80th and 67th percentile for all defenders. He also carries a strong ball-playing ability and passing range from deep. His tussle with Watkins could be very interesting.
England v Greece Prediction & Best Bet
Prediction: England 3-0 Greece
England put on a promising display against Ireland on Saturday and with them back at Wembley Stadium in a “weaker” game on paper, they could be on course to score a lot of goals in this game.
Greece may have continuity in their management, but that’s about their only plus over England in what could be an extremely difficult night for the team.
England to put on a show under Carsley again and expect advocates of him getting the job long-term to amplify further.
Best Bet: England Win + Under 3.5 Goals @ 10/11
