England’s win over Serbia means the pressure is now off Albania ahead of their home clash with the runaway Group K winners.
Albania were battling Serbia for the runners-up spot, but a 2-0 win for Thomas Tuchel’s men at Wembley, combined with a 1-0 victory for Albania in Andorra, means the top two are now set in stone.
That is not to say there is nothing to play for in Tirana. England will be eager to finish with a rare perfect qualifying record, having so far won all seven matches without conceding a single goal.
Albania, meanwhile, would love to head into next year’s play-offs on the back of their first-ever win over the Three Lions.
We think England will edge it, but expect it to be close and an away win with under 3.5 goals in total at 23/20 is our prediction.

Head-to-Head
England vs Albania Head-to-Head
England and Albania have only played each other seven times over the last 36 years, with every game coming in World Cup qualifying and all of them won by the Three Lions.
The first meetings came in 1989 when goals from John Barnes and Bryan Robson earned England a 2-0 triumph in Tirana before Bobby Robson’s side - who would reach the World Cup semi-finals the following year in Italy - claimed a 5-0 victory at Wembley.
The two nations next met in 2001, when 3-1 and 2-0 triumphs helped England finish top after a qualifying campaign immortalised by a 5-1 win over Germany in Munich, and it was another 20 years before they crossed paths again.
As in 1989, a 5-0 home win and 2-0 away - Harry Kane netting four of those goals - helped England secure a place at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The most recent encounter was in June and another 2-0 England victory - the fourth such result between the two - saw Tuchel’s troops off to a winning start in Group K. England are 11/2 to record another 2-0 triumph this weekend.
England Form
England Form
England’s triumph over Serbia, secured by goals from Bukayo Saka and Eberechi Eze, was the result of functional if not free-flowing football but made it seven wins out of seven nonetheless.
Just as impressive is the fact that England's defence has still not been breached and goalkeeper Jordan Pickford will be desperate to continue that record at Air Albania Stadium.
Kane will also be itching to add to his tally of 23 goals for club and country this season after drawing a blank against Serbia.
The Bayern Munich forward is 3/1 to open the scoring, and you can also have the advantage of BOYLE Sports’ brand new offer – Sub Swap.
That means if you place a bet on Kane, or any other player, and they are substituted, that bet will automatically transfer to the incoming substitute, giving you a second chance of success.
Albania Form
Albania Form
Albania’s only defeat in Group K came in their opening match away to England, but since that 2-0 March loss they have picked up 14 points from a possible 18, as well as winning two friendlies.
That superb form under the guidance of former Arsenal defender Sylvinho has assured Albania of a play-off spot and a first-ever appearance at a World Cup is in their sights.
Albania have not lost at home in almost a year and if you think they will end England’s 100 per cent record you can get 13/2 for a home win or 7/2 for a draw.
