England U21 v Germany U21 Preview
England U21’s Form
England have been managed by Lee Carsley since 2021, following his previous work with the U20s. Following a brief stint as the England Interim manager, he will be looking to add another accolade to his tenure after guiding them to success in this competition in 2023. His overall record at the helm is a strong 27/36 wins, 2 draws and 7 defeats.
While this is arguably a less star-studded group than the one which won the U21 Championship in 2023, there’s still plenty of quality in the squad. Liverpool attacker Harvey Elliot (22) stands out above the rest as an exceptionally gifted footballer. James McAtee (22) broke into the Man City side on merit last season, and Tottenham midfielder/defender Archie Gray (19) has a big future ahead of him.
Despite losing 1-2 to Germany in the group stage, they were arguably the better team on the day. England had 66% of possession in the fixture and their 18 shots were over three times the total of Germany’s 5 and completed 91!% of their passes compared to Germany’s 79%. If they can be more ruthless with their chances, they’ve every opportunity to win this final.

Germany U21’s Form
Germany has been managed by Antonio Di Salvo since 2021, his first Head Coach role following spells as an assistant with Bayern at underage level as well as with the Germany U19 and U21 sides. Overseeing 36 matches in charge, he’s come on the right side of the result 25/36 times with 6 games drawn and 5 defeats.
Unlike previous German sides, which would have more “household names”, there are still a few talents to keep an eye out for. The main man being Stuggart striker Nick Woltemade (22), who has 13 Goals in 17 Games for the U21s and has been capped by the senior team. Elsewhere, Brighton winger Gruda (21) and Ireland-eligible attacker Paul Nebel (22) are names to watch.
There’s a real win-at-all-costs mentality for this Germany side, going unbeaten in 2024 and 2025 with 11 wins and 2 draws. It’ll be interesting to see if they go more defensive in the final, though, after giving up 18 shots against in their group game.

Key Players To Watch
Harvey Elliot - England U21
The Liverpool attacker (22) may have seen reduced minutes at club level this season, but he’s been the mainman for England this tournament with 4 Goals in 5 Games. While it’s been his goals which will get the headlines, his quick feet, vision and exceptional passing mean he creates chances for his teammates also.
He is priced at 8/1 to be the first goal scorer and 5/2 to score anytime.
Elliot first goal - 8/1

Nick Woltemade - Germany U21
Stuttgart Striker (23) Nick Woltemade may have been capped by the German Senior Team, but this will be his final appearance for the U21s, whom he’s scored 13 Goals for in 17 Games, including 6 Goals and 3 Assists in 4 Games in this tournament. The 6’6 speciman retains strong link-up play and technical finesse to match his physical presence.
He is 9/2 to score first and 5/4 to score at any point
Woltemade anytime goal - 5/4

England U21 v Germany U21 Prediction & Best Bet
Prediction: England U21 1-2 Germany U21
England are slight favourites despite losing to Germany at the group stage, but have overcome two tough games to reach this final and can’t be discounted.
Germany has been a winning machine for over 12 months, and I think the odds here underrepresent their quality.
This will be a tight game, but I think Germany might just edge it, though it could go all the way to penalties!
