Bookies Braced For Dancefloor Showdown

Punters believe the race for the Dancing with the Stars glitterball is shaping up to be a three-way battle after Amber Wilson became the latest contestant to exit the competition following Country Week.

With nine dancers now remaining, betting is firmly focused on a leading trio, headed by reigning Rose of Tralee Katelyn Cummins. The Laois girl has edged back in front at 13/8 with BOYLE Sports, despite being outscored on the leaderboard by both Eric Roberts and Jordan Dargan at the weekend.

Cummins’ consistency continues to win over punters; however, Eric (7/4) and Jordan (3/1) are applying the pressure, as the latter’s Paso Doble topped the bill with 34 points. Philip Doyle and Tolu Makay were only one point adrift and remain on the radar at 6/1 and 9/1 respectively, but it’s proving an uphill task for Niamh Kavanagh.

The Eurovision legend has plenty of ground to make up if she’s to avoid an early exit, as she has drifted right out to 80/1 after finding herself bottom of the leaderboard.

Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BOYLE Sports, said:

“It’s incredibly tight at the top with Katelyn leading the charge, but there is a cast of improving dancers snapping at her heels, so it’s safe to say the glitterball is very much up for grabs.”
